im going to get a good picture once i get home to post but i recently got a cham from a well known company when i opened him he seemed alot smaller then the picture on the net. i payed for a juve but the lil guy i got it only about 3.4-4in? just guessing by getting a measuring tape and eyeing it next to him outside of his enclosure.after i post i know it will be more help but idk what to do i want to call the people but being a first time owner i dont know how to go about it or even should?thank you

He may just be small for his age. Or he is younger than you were told. As I think I remember... Its a Veiled right? If so, those are sold young and small. I think it will be up to you if you want to call the company. They will probley just exchange him.

This is a problem because a) web pictures are hard to evaluate unless they took the photo with a ruler visible. and b) the term "juvenile" is very subjective. What a breeder considers a juvenile may be very different from what you consider a juvenile. It is too big to be considered a hatchling, but the age at which the cham could be considered a "juvenile" is pretty long...anything from a month old to almost a year.

I'd check back with the seller to give them a chance to explain their views on this, verify you got the right cham, and also be re-assured that everything is OK.

Did they promise you a certain size or weight? If not, you can't really judge anythings size unless there is some reference object in the picture.

yea idk thats what i mean i have no clue how to even go about it i'm trying to find pics online of a 4month veiled cuz thats what hes supossed to be but he looks really small compared to pics i found....just nervious i got wrong guy...

I doubt very much they were selling you the Cham pictured.
It was probably just the oldest of the clutch and used him as the likeliness of the rest of the clutch.
Your cham is likely smaller because he was likely caged with some other chams. That usually slows their growth slightly due to competition and stress.
Either way, he's going to grow like a weed in your care and in a month you'll completely forget he was ever smaller.

ok yea it was just the money that concerns me..hate to be that way but if it was a mix up the money could go towards feeders, supplies, or other items i need.im really happy with the little guy everything seems perfect as far a health, limbs, tail etc... i just want to make sure i didnt pay double for a baby im post pics around 4:30 when im off so it will maybe make it easier for help thank you all!

When you make the pictures put your cham next to something like a ruler or a quarter so that we can compare his size to something. It's hard to tell size from a picture.

yes thank you thats what i was going to do i was trying to figure out a way to measure him with as less stress as possible.I was thinking of putting my hand underneath where he may be and try to see if i can get him to ease into my hand? and then place a qtr on the top of my hand so it will show some sort of size comparison hopefully... thanks for all the help

here are the pics compared to a qtr:confused:

My veiled was very small at 4 months also. That little guy is definitely going to need some small branches that he could hold onto:)

yea i just relized that few branches are to big so ill go branch hunting in a bit but i got bout 10ft total of small vine thru out the enclosure a few small branches but some are diff to big thank you

he looks 4 months range to me, trust me they are small to begin with, but your guy is bigger than a 2-3 month old, in time he will grow like a weed:)
