help w female veiled

Our female veiled is in the midst of recovering from mbd and she had xrays and the vey thinls there eggs and i dont want hwr to become egg bound anything i can do to get her to lay ive already tried a lay bin but she has lim fractures and cant be climbing or digggingthe vet said any ideas

If she's too weak to dig then she's too weak to lay. The only thing you can do is have them removed by surgery :(

But there's only 2 and they haven't calcified? How did they show up on an X-ray then? I'm sure we'd like to see the X-ray pictures if possible.

The vet thinks that there are two uncalcified eggs? How old is she? Do you have any pictures of her and/or your setup at all? 2 is not a full batch for a female Veiled so I doubt she feels the need to dig. What treatment is she getting, if any?
If she can't lay normally there are drugs vets can give to induce or they can do surgery to remove them.
Could you fill out the 'how to ask for help' form - https://www.chameleonforums.com/how-ask-help-66/

Shes 6 1/2 mo shes getting her calcium liquid and food supp bit shes not too weak to dig the vet said dont.allow her to cuz she might fracturr more bones

gaping has nothing to do with hydration.

shes probably too hot.

how are you measuring her basking temp?
how close is the basking spot to the light?

Bout 14 " because shes in a glass awuarium i lnow there not generally suitable for chams but the vet suggested because of the mbd and i measure thetemp with a flukers thermometer

sounds like your temp gauge is bad, those things dont work well.

and a glass aquarium wont help wiith mbd.

can we see a pic of the set up and her please?

glass keeps heat in, so she is over heating.

i would raise the basking light or lower the wattage being used.

Ot would help with the aspect thay she isnt supposed. To be climbing and she would injure herself so thats why shes in anaquarium and she has cool down spots if she needs em

Does she ever make popping or gasping noises when she has her mouth open? If she does she could have an upper respiratory infection. But for now try getting a lower wattage house bulb, maybe a 60 watt? Just a regular frosted house bulb. See if it helps. And misting down the cage frequently, but letting it dry out in between of course, will also help cool down the cage.

Can you post a pic of her setup? If you don't have plants in there for her to climb on and hide in, or vines - what IS in her enclosure? I understand you don't want her to fall but she does need some foliage/vines to be and feel comfortable. One good tip would be to have the plants and vines in there but put a thick towel or sheet on the bottom of her cage to break a fall in case she does go down. As for the aquarium, it isn't good for her to be in a glass environment - she needs air flow for good health.

Also, a few people have used hard plastic straws as splints with good luck. That way she can still climb with some support.

If she is looking to lay eggs then I would provide her with a place to lay them...but I would dig the hole for her to minimize the chance of her breaking any bones. Making her hold the eggs in would not be a good idea IMHO.

You said the eggs are not calcified..are they showing round or oval in the xray?
