Help with feeders

No one mentioned "big-box places" but dirty feeders, yeah, I can see that being a problem. Thanks!

Even a local shop can be an issue, but you need to be careful wherever you get them from. Buyer beware... Prior to purchasing, look in the feeder bin and what do you see. Ask them what day they get feeder deliveries and then look at the bins the previous day. Are they clean or dirty?

Regardless, you can generally get better pricing from a supplier directly. Hopefully they are doing things right on their end.

I use Rainbowmealworms and they do banded crickets, but they've messed up my past two orders. I ordered LAST Monday, never got a shipping notice, contacted them, they forgot to ship my order! They apologized and we're like sorry, we'll ship to you next week, like its no big deal. In the mean time, I'm now out of feeders for some of my pets! My previous order, I ordered ONE anole, and got TWO geckos instead. So now I have two pet geckos I didn't want!
my past 2 orders got screwed up too. Long time to ship, then they forgot to include my silkworm chow and I'm almost out. What is up with them?

seriously? Ugh. They shipped yesterday finally, my order is an entire week late.
I do not place big orders I'll have that be known. Usually nothing more than 300 bugs total.... I have wondered if Rainbowmealworms has been growing faster than they can keep up. They are a huge company there in Compton, CA with I'm sure a lot of orders. Not making excuses for them by any means. Just haven't experienced this myself yet.

I'm going to give them another try and order from them again next time. They have good pricing and quality feeders. I'm just frustrated. The two geckos they sent me by mistake was really a bummer. I get that they are selling them as feeder lizards so probably thought what's the difference between one anole and two geckos but I was ordering as a pet. I really didn't know what to do with them, so now they are in with my anole which I hope is ok. Its stressing me out. I really just wanted another anole.

All I can say right now is I ordered from Ghann's yesterday They shipped today. Same on the money timing with Full Throttle feeders

Good to know my notes are correct about Ghann.

On a side note, I just added a comment on my list to one company mentioned in this thread that they've messed up a bunch of people's orders.

That's a serious bummer...I'm sure if you asked they would make it right (eventually) as they seem to be eager to fix problems- just not very efficient - but you still have the obstacle of returning the geckos. Perhaps you can rehome those to someplace local, and get the anole? I'm sure you've been over this already....

Hi, I did contact them and all they could offer me was a $5 credit, they wouldn't do anything else. My kids are now attached to the little geckos so I'm stuck with them. I have them in a beautiful bioactive vivarium with my anole, so they can count themselves lucky since they were being sold as feeders. It's only a thirty gallon so I don't think I can get another anole now, four animals in a single enclosure this size seems like too much.
