Help with Humidity Levels

Here’s some links for Arcadia T5 kits, I’d get the 36” (34” bulb) kit so it covers the entire length of the enclosure
Noted, I was wondering if the fixture was the correct type. I'm not sure it's viable to increase the size at this stage though as I'd need to recut the top cutout which may not be doable. I will measure and see but I'm concerned it may run into the support corners. Will get the T5 kit either way.

Thanks for the links.

This is a great idea, not sure why I didn't think of it! I will try this and then see if it helps get the mist up.

Thanks again for all the help!!
Awesome! Let me know how it goes!

Great! It’s fine if it hangs over the edge a little, the longer the bulb to fully cover the length is better

Since I'm ordering a new higher end fixture I'm curious on thoughts related to these Jungle Dawn LED options? I had considered them prior. Curious to get your take? I like the fact they may not need to be replaced like the tubes do and without a solarometer I'm not sure how to know when the bulbs need to be replaced as is:

They are pricey, but a lot of people love them, including me! You can’t argue with their results, and you can go with shorter versions than the length of uvb you need, plus they link to the uvb fixture, so you’ll have two fixture on only one plug! Now, my jungle dawn did just sort of half die (half of it is lit up like normal and half is flickering- it used to fully flicker in the past but I’d just re plug it in, give it a gentle love slap, etc before to fix it). Now is it the fixture itself or my fault for accidentally occasionally spraying it with water when hand misting? I’m guessing it’s me, but it hasn’t been an overwhelming amount of water, so who knows. If you’re willing to spend the money, I do recommend them! If you want a stronger plant bulb in your current dome fixture, Sansi bulbs are great, as well! When you buy a basic fixture, it comes with a 6400/6500K daylight bulb, which doesn’t need to be replaced like a uvb bulb, as when it dies, you can actually tell because it’ll stop lighting up (unlike a uvb bulb), those are cheaper and still work, but they don’t put out as much light as the other options. Other places do make their own version of jungle dawns, too, though I’m not sure on the prices compared to Arcadia or how well they work, as I’ve never used them. Whatever you choose, make sure it is white light only, not blue and red and white LEDs lighting up in their respective colors together

To clarify, are these LED versions not intended to replace the Arcadia T5 UVB fixtures as proposed to replace what I have now?

That is what I was considering as I only have the single slot for a bar style fixture.

They are not uvb, just uva (visible light), so you’ll have your uvb fixture and then a separate plant light

If you’re talking about putting a plant bulb in your current fixture and adding it next to the new uvb kit, that works, you’ll just buy a 6400/6500K replacement bulb for it

need to recut the top cutout
Just noticed this and looked back at your photos, so if you could clarify, I’d appreciate it! Do you have a screen panel under the solid top of the cabinet with cutouts on the top for the lights?

yes, confirmed. Aluminum screen under lights.

So that’s definitely the main issue with your air circulation. If you could make the top screen (or cut open the top so the screen panel is the only thing as the top), that’d be best for the chameleon’s health. A full screen top and exposing the bottom vents will most definitely fix your air circulation and be much safer for your cham’s health

That makes sense. Given the construction of the enclosure I need to keep the top panel intact, but I can likely cut much more out of it to improve the airflow while maintining the integrity of the enclosure. The most realistic way to accomplish this may be cutting out holes with a hole saw, similar to this. Let me know if you think that would be sufficient.

Could you cut out a majority of the top panel and leave a lip around the edge like this?

I’d be concerned that it would compromise the integrity of the structure, but will look closer at that idea. Thanks again for all the help. New UVB light should arrive next week!

Would any of these work?

Ni problem at all, thank you!
That’s awesome!
