Help with veiled please!

So my friend's ex left her with his chameleon. She has no clue what she's doing other than the basic day to day feeding. He's a male. Being kept in what I think is an 18x18x36 enclosure. She is wanting to sell him, and I might help, but I would like some help checking him out. I only have a few pics she sent me tonight. Probably more tomorrow. She also told me that the uvb bulb went out recently. Don't have an exact date. Sorry. But that's the only thing he's missing as far as I know. Please understand that if I get him from her, I would change a lot about his cage. What I'm asking for is help determining his health. I need to know if I'm gonna have to try to save this guy. Hi and welcome,

The UVB he will need again soon, it won't harm them a few days without, but it will cause health issues (MBD) if he doesn't get it for longer periods of time.
If you are lucky enough to be in a warm country you can take him out into the sun for some time a day to let him bask and get his fill of D3.

If you plan to keep him yourself you need to make very sure you actually want to.
They are not like hamsters, they cost a lot in upkeep, vet visits (if needed) and time in comparison.

He looks maybe a little skinny but that's something some good feeders will fix. If you have the time and are willing to do what needs to be done, I say go for it.

Like @Peachypink said he looks fairly healthy, but if I were you I would study the care sheets that another poster linked to make sure you got it all down. The biggest mistake new keepers make is to think they got this covered. I have been at it for over 21 + years, and am still learning things. They are a big responsibility, but very rewording, and worth it. Good luck, and welcome to the chameleon addiction.

P.S. You should upgrade his cage to a 2x2x4 enclosure as soon as you can he is a big boy.

Wow thanks for all the help! I'll be sure to pass it on. Still not sure if I'm going to actually take him, but I know I'll be helping take care of him for the time being. I'll get that bulb and start looking for a bigger cage. Thanks again. You guys rock!
