Here are some pics of my Panther SOHO... and veiled.

He is approx. 8-9 months old. I got him from Pams Chams, from the sire Meka. He has a defective tongue and has to be handfed every day. He can catch maybe one or two per day on his own but it really takes a lot out of him because he misses 4-5 times on each try. He is kept outdoors in a 2x2x4 enclosure. Misted from 8-8:15am every day, along with any rain or dew that accumulates. Let me know how he looks, and I will be posting more of my veiled shortly.

And here are some of my veiled Louis. He is 6-7 months old and already as big as Soho. He is perfectly normal and I got him from Mike at FlChams.

How does one acquire a defective tongue and how do you hand feed him...just hold the critters down for him?

I have no idea how his tongue got that way, the vet said that it could be because of him hitting a sharp branch or something, but the vet, nor Pam, knew any reason why it could have happened. All calcium/uvb/uva/vitamins were being given and at the right amounts(according to the two of them). I don't know whats wrong with the tongue, it shoots out but it is very short and is always kinked/crooked.

To hand feed what I do is hold the crickets back legs in my fingers and make the cricket "pretend run" around some leaves or branches where the cham is. He then comes to get it and as he sticks his tongue out of his mouth I quickly put the cricket within a millimeter from his tongue, so no matter what he can't miss. This way he still feels like hes hunting, but for some reason the cricket always jumps onto his tongue before he gets to shoot it!

Very nice looking Cham! Love the colors. Please do not take this wrong as I am new to this and am just asking a general question but am I wrong that your cham looks small for an 8-9 month old? I would say, from what I can see that my Panther, who will be 6 months old on Friday is larger than yours at 8-9. Ther picture in my avatar is my cham at just under 5 months. Needless to say he is much larger now.

Can anyone help me out here?

Please post some new pics of yours. Please try to take similar pics to this post to compare. I have a sibling of your and he is nowhere near as big as this one. And mine is a pig.

I have no idea if he is big or small for his age. Either way I think that he is healthy.....or am I wrong? Alll you others with panthers out there .....does he look like he is the correct size?

I got him on June 11th. And Pam was not sure if he was 3 or 5 months old So if igured I would split the difference and say 4-5......so he could be a little younger.

Either way he is great and has really started to get good colors lately.
