Hi guys need some help with handling my baby veiled chameleon

Yes, but it was revived by a new member to the forum accidentally while he/she was looking for help, so I was trying to direct them to the proper place, I guess I could've pm'd them, lol.

Most baby veiled chameleons will run! I couldn't hold mine for about a month and she finally started warming up to me. Most chameleons wish to be left alone! They are not like bearded dragons or leopard geckos. He/she will eventually warm up to you.:D

Thanks Pilot, I am defin. leaning towards keeping the little guy. I do realize i acted hastily on my starting thread/post.

I've just been worrying myself sick over this little guy. I do realize I let the stress of it all get to me and that all pets take time. he just seemed so calm and relaxed is why i moved my hand towards him today and just got sad that he ran.

I do realize and understand his and my needs. I've been stressing out over him just as much as he has been. I guess I just let my own selfishness stress get the best of me too.

.. and sorry Samantha and anyone else I might have offended. I have just been very stressed and worried about the little guy and i semi cracked.

I can certainly relate to how you feel. I'm a new baby chameleon owner myself and had to accept the fact that I may not ever get to handle/tame my chameleon. I honestly don't exactly have great history with animals in general. But if my chameleon gets sick, I will do what I need to, to ensure he is healthy, happy and safe. The fact that you are willing to do what it takes to ensure this, I think, will help guide you towards the right direction.

There are a lot of experienced individuals on this forum and just from reading about their experiences have helped me a lot. The fact that people are getting upset or irritated shows how much they care about these animals. I can certainly respect that.

i just got my baby panther about 3 days ago its my first one and i love him i could just sit there and watch him i dont even have to hold him hes just so interesting to watch and i would rather have a happy cham then have him stressed out and maybe one day hold him but for now i just let him be him :D[/QUOTE
I always enjoy seeing mine happy as well !
my Chamy goes nuts every time he sees me he runs to the door of the enclosure. He will readily climb onto my hand to be taken to my kitchen and be placed on a plant while we eat. I hatched him from an egg and every morning I feed him and turn on his dripper and he runs to the water and drinks then let's the water drip on him I too love to watch my baby I sit in front of his cage from 7- 9 each morning and watch his routine chameleons are amazing and they recognize their keeper or at least mine does
