hi im new to this site and chams is a mesh viv or wooden viv better for a yemen?

as the title says i would like to know what type of enclosure would be best for a yemen?
we took on a young yemen back in feb this year estimated by the rep shop that she was about 8 months of age, i was told he was a male but rep shop confirmed to be that she is a female
the tank enclosure is an exo terra glass with mess top the size is 45x45x60, with branches and fake foliage
we feed every other day she normally eats about 7-8 crickets/locusts with calcium and has d3 plus a multivit each twice a month
the uv bulb i use is one in a canopy above the tank with a 10% bulb in
this one was recommended by the rep shop as when i had her she didnt even have a uv, thats whay they estimated her age to be about 8 months ish otherwise she would have have severe mbd from the lack of uv if she were older
i also removed the waterful that was in her tank plus got out the sand that covered the floor, i then replaced with coco fibre mats as i like the look of a forest floor without the risk of anything loose to be eaten with the food
she gets misted twice a day, and i brought her a dripper, her humidity is about 50%, basking spot usually 32-33C, she also had alot of retained shed around her eyes and end of her tail which i managed to remove with cotton buds and warm water over the course of about a week
i am aiming to get a nice new viv for her for xmas, and was opting for a 2x2x4 vivexotic tall viv, with a 2 foot tall cabinet underneath to keep her nice a high up, but have read recently that the mesh ones are best, could you please advise on the best one to get, i also like the sound of placing some plants in the tank and have noted down the recommended ones of umbrella plant and pothos
have just weighed her and shes 53g, she was only 21g when i got her and quite skinny, so a good weight gain i think
also i have just seen something regarding egg laying, do females lay eggs without having a male present, and if so what do i do to stop her becomming egg bound, as she is my 7 year olds pet, although i take on all the care obviously
many thanks in advance for any help given

hi there

Hi there, welcome i am pretty new in here as well. it looks like u r doing a good job with her. the uvb is very important u were right about that. she will love her new viv for x mas i just moved my male 2 yr old to a big hooked up bird cage he is now 7 ft off the ground n looks lost. lol. i do believe u have the right supplements as well. ive been told that more screening is better for air circulation and they seem to be happier with more screening. altho they sure do love to climb on it. i use a insect/pet mesh screen which at first though maybe his feeders will get tho, but no such luck for them buggies there definitely buddy food, no getting out for them. :D so this mesh is pretty good n u can get it in home depot or lowes. not to expensive either. ;) good luck and u r in the right place for questions the people in here r great! very helpful and patient ! :)

Welcome to the forum
Good plan re getting larger enclosure.
You are keeping her basking area too hot right now.
If you home environment is close to a chams needs, a screen enclosure can be very good. If you live somewhere where the humidity is low, or the temp low, a more solid walled enclosure would be better.
Yes, they can lay eggs despite there being no male around.
