Im going to say this is just a forsale photo. Get a tote, throw some leaves in, thow in all chameleons. While thats a bad move, there is no way that is how they are kept. Those leaves are brown by now. Plus they have to be doing something right, they dont have MBD and they have good weight on them. Though one has to ask, why do they have a bunch of adults?????

Well this ad is from Florida so they probably went out and caught a bunch of wild adults

Me to and I'd be pretty surprised if anyone even bought one of these chameleons probably wasn't their best plan for making money

That’s so sad. Poor babies, and the fact that they said easy to take care of and great for kids?! They take a lot of care and research.

Hate to break it to you all, but this kind of behavior with small animals/reptiles is super common. Many people don't ever break free from the idea that animals are just objects for their amusement. 'If they die, who cares, just a lizard...' I would guess that horrendous care/breeding is far more common than how the very small percentage of us on forums treat animals.

Is that eve legal? To go and catch the animals and sell them like that? Don you need some registration for that? At least can this person be reported for abusing animals?

Well sadly in Florida chameleons are an invasive species and if you catch one you have to keep it so this is not technically illegal
So I was on FB forum a few weeks ago... Where the person goes out in FL and catches them... They said they sell the adults to the business's that breed babies for the big box chain stores... Interesting thought that many of the babies out of petco and petsmart are actually are from wild caught FL Veileds.

I’ve had to avoid Craig’s List. It’s too upsetting for me and I’ve ‘saved’ all I can from there. Last time I looked there, I saw an adult male veiled clinging to a badly foamed wall as that was all he had to climb on. It makes me ill.
