Hello my name is Dajlan. I am new to the Chameleon community and this forum. I was just wanting to get some opinions on my enclosure. I don’t yet have a chameleon but I plan on getting a veiled soon. I just wanted to get the enclosure ready first. It has a mist king mister setup. Any feedback will be appreciated! Thank you.

Looks pretty good from the picture. What do you have in the bottom of the enclosure? And do you have a branch for basking under that heat lamp? I would fill out this form (as much as you can since you don’t have a cham yet) to check everything.

Chameleon Info:
  • Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
  • Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
  • Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
  • Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
  • Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
  • Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
  • History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

Cage Info:
  • Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
  • Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
  • Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
  • Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
  • Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
  • Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
  • Location - Where are you geographically located?

Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about.

Okay thank you and here is the hammock. You can see it better without all the leaves in the way.

It’s a Repribreeze 24x24x48. I have a 45 watt heat lamp. 24 inch T8 UVB hood (wish I would’ve got the T5). The cage will not be near any fans. I have a MistKing mister and I monitor my humidity/ temp with a Zilla digital gauge. I am located in Georgia. I also do not have live plants yet but I plan on getting a pothos plant soon. I will have to take temps of the floor to the basking area and I haven’t used the Mister yet so not sure of humidity levels yet.

What strength is the UVB bulb? This chart will help you you figure out how far your basking branches will need to be depending. Check the temperatures at your new basking spot. It you don’t have anything to check with, just use your hand. It should be warm but not burning.
