How long will my new cage last?

I just got a new cage for little Jose today and I'm wondering how long it's going to be until I have to upgrade to a bigger one. I don't want to, but I know it will happen eventually. Here's a picture.

He's only 4 months ( I think) and has doubled in size from the 3 weeks ago we got him.

It's hard to say without knowing the type of cham you have and the dimensions of the cage. If you have a male veiled or panther, they should be in a 24x24x48 cage by around 6 months. Based on the pic the cage looks a little small for a 4 month old to me but that's hard to say without knowing the actual dimensions.

What is the container of water and why is there substrate? Substrate is a nono, they can ingest it while eating their food. More plants might be nice, but assuming it's a Veiled the cage should last 5-6 months ish. Also, do you have a UVB or just two heatlamps?

Water container is for the dripping system, there is a bit of substrate so water when i spray it doesnt just gather up on the bottom and just puddle up. Yes, we have a UVB and heat.

That cage looks to be around 24-30 inches tall. I don't think that's tall enough for a 9-10 month old veiled or panther.

actually, i think the substrate is a bad idea thing to be alittle bit over blown. I have put many chameleons in planted glass cages, i find that if you supplement them correctly they dont eat the soil. I think its that they sense a mineral in the soil that makes them eat it. The whole miss and eat soil thing ive never seen. My chams generally have good aim

Jose never eats the substrate, people definitely over exaggerate on it.

upgrade when he turns around 6 monthes old. If you can afford to, when he turns 5 monthes, put him in a 18X18X36, then when hes 10 monthes put him in any size cage bigger than 24 x 24 x 48

Whether or not you SEE him eat it, it can be gathered when shooting for a bug. It can cause impaction, and that is a bad idea, it's best to take it out, instead of saying it's "overexaggerating" and being sorry if your cham needs to me taken to the vet. Plenty of chams have died of it.

He needs to go to the vet anyways, im pretty sure he has some sort of parasite because hes really skinny and wont gain any weight, we feed him good and give him proper vitamins but he wont fat up. And everyone tells me hes fine, when his ribs are sticking out WAY farther than they should be, so no one will take him. I think due to others ignorance he will end up dieing.
