How long will my new cage last?

A leading expert on chameleons Dr, Ferguson says thats its most likely the minerals that are in the soil that the cham doesnt have enough of is attracting them

I don't see why your hounding this prson. That cage will work till he's roughly 5 and a so so amount of days. You have time to set up a new cage. Substrate I bad, it collects mol. So think about that. Same with old water, with a possibility he coul poo in it or drown. Don't let a little 14 yea old look keyboard gangter and act like she's boss cause she's had a chameleon forever and a day. Simple answers are nice. Don't need a lifestory.

Thank you.

That was what I was looking for when I posted the thread, lol. The water was put in yesterday, and again, its for the dripping system.

Impaction is caused by the large, hard to digest hunks, and if the cham gets it in his mouth (which quite frankly is unlikely) they would spit it out

Hello,

Read through all of this and couple of things. Since you are worried about parasites just take the poo in first. Have the fecal done and if you have parasites then you would have to bring your cham in before they will prescribe meds. No sense in paying for an office visit if you have clean poo unless you want your cham to become an established patient of that vet.

The cage will probably suffice until they are about 8 mths old that will be pushing it though. It does look nice. That bowl of water you use to catch. if you could go to the fabric store unless you know someone with old ballet costumes and buy tulle- that stiff netting, and put it over the bowl just in case they take a tumble into the bowl they can not drown cause the net will keep them above water but not absorb any. put a rubber band over the net and bowl to keep it in place :)

Going back and forth over and over will not resolve anything. why doesn't everyone just walk away from the substrate issue.

Wow, "14 yea old look keyboard gangter and act like she's boss", you are incredibly rude, god forbid I give advice to someone so that their chameleon doesn't get sick.

I've heard everything before and I know about the substrate. The thing is, I wasnt asking about it, I was asking about the cage.

yea, just because shes young doesnt mean she doesnt know. She seems very knowlegdable, Ive had reptiles since i was 8. Chameleons since i was 15. If you do your research it doesnt madder the age. But in this case, your incorrect karma

Its not a bowl, its a plastic cup that has a lid, we cut wholes in the lid so when the water falls back down it goes into the wholes, and the pump is inside of it pumping the water.
