link me, and i will take back everything ive said, but from my own experiance, and dr ferguson, I beleive its falseJust because YOU have not heard of it, doesn't mean it hasn't happened.
I don't see why your hounding this prson. That cage will work till he's roughly 5 and a so so amount of days. You have time to set up a new cage. Substrate I bad, it collects mol. So think about that. Same with old water, with a possibility he coul poo in it or drown. Don't let a little 14 yea old look keyboard gangter and act like she's boss cause she's had a chameleon forever and a day. Simple answers are nice. Don't need a lifestory.
lol attempt to mock how smart a 14 year old is FAIL. I think she knows more bout chams than you (emcee101)Lol, at least the keyboard gangster can use her keyboard to spell, and give a reason why 'substrate I bad' (it collects mol, lol). You added nothing much except an attempt to mock a 14 year old, why didn't you keep it simple and nice yourself?
That doesn't matter whether or not you see him eating it now. It can be ingested in the future EASILY. Don't be ignorant.
before i started suplementing my panther cham (my freind nocked my calcium jar into my sink....) lol he used to try to get his substrate ive only seen it once i pulled the coco fibres out of his mouth... i havnt seen my chams do it since..... i believe that substrate isnt all that bad unless you have a cham that is always on the bottom.... my veilded never goes down to the bottom even when hunting and my panther i havnt seen him trying to eat his substrate (its over exagerated but there is a possability of impaction)
so use at your own risk
if she does eat random flowers and soils there is a high risk of impaction, it doesnt take a rock, it just takes build up. I would suggest you check your supplementation and or if you are feeding her enoughi've seen clair go and eat random flowers and soil outside and shes never had a poop problem. i think healthy animals can eat it no problem unless they get a rock or something. you need to relax just a little. its not a fight were giveing advise and hope people will take it. i dont use substrate becuz i FR and thats the closeist habbitate i can give my chams to what they want. so i dont think impaction is a huge risk(although its possible) more plants that go up would be better for that cage. eventually that stuff on the botten will get moldy or something becuz of mistings.
that cage will work for a while. good thing you knew your cham baby would grow out of it...and you can use it for something else when they do! (mabey a new cham ?) goodluck and have fun!
