I have a baby veiled. She is about 5 months old we think. She is eating approx. 10-12 small mealworms and 5-7 crickets per day. Is this enough? Should I be doing more?
For her age feeding her that amount wont harm her as she is still growing. Mealworms can be very fatty and less nutritious than you would think so cut back on those as she gets a bit bigger or if starts showing unhealthy weight. My Veiled eats about 6-8 crickets everyday, and worms on the weekends as treats.
Just make sure your insects are gut loaded with highly nutritious foods so your chameleon can get all the vitamins it needs. My crickets eat a range of oranges, grapefruit, carrots, spinach, apples, and they love zucchini.
How are you feeding your cham? Make sure their arnt any loose crickets hiding in the corners that your cham isnt getting
