So did these kids steal chameleons? Or were they just breaking cages?? What little sh*ts! I don't get kids/parents these days...is right from wrong really that hard to instill in a kid??

On the otherside of the coin it is getting that way! Kids can call the police on, and even
take their parents to court these days for trying to instill displine, hell, even for raising your voice at them it seems they are calling abuse these days, thats whats ridiculous!
The more the goverment is allowed to interfere in your life, everything from making it law that you wear a hemet on a motorcycle, to raising your own children, the less control you have the more family, community, and society begin to break down, crime increases,
the less power we have to control it ourselves, even in our own neighbourhoods.
Dont assume every wild kid has a parent to blame.
Governmental interferance wrests control and influence of our children from us.
Yes some parents need taking behind the shed and given a good belting, but not all.

True, but kids who are respectful and grow up knowing that they need to respect their parents would never think in a million years that they have the authority to call the cops on their parents for disciplining them...It's all about raising them right RIGHT from the start. None of that spoiled rotten little brat, stuff...that's how you get bad kids! :)

Whap!

did anyone ever watch Rosanne? there was an episode where Rosanne and her sister sneak into their old home before it is knocked down..... they talk about this hook on the wall where their father kept a belt... hung for immediate use of discipline.... my home will have something similar....

One of my favorite shows of ALL time...seriously! I probably have seen every single episode at least 3490 times....haha :)

Any how stroke of good news all we are missing are the babies and 2 adults. the rest were recoverd with the help just now of our 90lbs red nose pitbull who just walked in the house with an unharmed veiled in his mouth. Crazy cause he kills anything and everything insight. Including trying to bute people not freindly. LOL:cool:

This thread just turns my stomach. I hope you will pursue it in some way with the parents. Anyway, I just wanted to say I love your dog. What a good pit he is.

Good luck. I hope you recover the rest. Check those trees. Your adults may still be there.

When I was a kid they wouldnt, times have changed.

Mine are brought up better, at 13 and 15 , its 'so far so good',
But teens escpecially are vulnerable to peer pressure and guilable enough, an easily impressed enough to fall into bad company and influence, usually from other adults. Unless you lock them in the attic and they have no contact with society, no tv, magazines, no internet, then the behaviours deemed 'just the way it is' , by society, have a big influence.

Im not saying 'Go Amish' with your kids, trying to protect them from reality can be negative in the end, but even in a 'normal' household, it can be difficult, more so when your parental Authority is eroded by law.

Nobody gets a manual when your child is born, Some do it better than others.
Its a minority that should have no right to infect the genepool. :)

Well just to give you guys alittle insight. I live in a gated community and we have an association. Long story short in my association rules we are not allowed to have exotic animals, pitbulls and a certain number of animals. I already have had a letter sent to my home because someone said I was running a business out of my house, because UPS was picking up everyday. So im alittle nervious right now to even say anything cause I cant deal with opening another can of worms.

Again thanks all for the kind consoling words .:)

you have constitutional right to own those chameleons. most of the time deed restricted communities dont actually have right over anything its just mainly a scare tactic. I lived in FL and our neighbors tried to call the police on us for not cutting out grass because it was 1 in above regulation. Needless to say i was sitting at the house after school (was in HS then) the house phone rings, and an officer was on the phone he was talking to me and explaining the situation and started laughing saying it was the most ridiculous call he had ever received also saying as long as it didnt get tall enough to harbor wild animals there wasnt a thing that could be done.

Also where do you live? if you live in FL,CA,HI you could easily argue that they are no longer considered exotic in that area since they have started to naturally reproduce.

Ah yes, wonderful Home owners Association butting their noses in.. Hence why we refuse to live in those up on your neighbor subdivisions.. I bet the kids came to steal the chams thinking they were cool, got through Act 1 of vandalism, and freaked... I would DEFINATELY go talk to the cop. Explain(not accuse), that you found his son in your yard after an act of vandalism occurred. You are not saying that his son was involved, but you feel he may know who is and you would like the father to speak with him. You would hate for the other kids to place blame on him if he hadnt anything to do with it. You just want whats rightfully yours. You are sure the father could understand that, right? :) You catch more flies with Honey!!!

And thank you Sang (I think) and Kevin. I am a mother and would like to think of myself as a Great one.. My kids know darn tootin better than to ever lay a hand on anyone else's property. I am probably the only mom who can discipline my kids and still have them come tell me they love me in a 5 minute span.;) They know..The word around here.. "Moms the boss" Burns dad up. LOL!

Home Owners or not, those are pets. Unless there is a STATE law keeping you from owning them, they can suck an egg. (I say State because here they are outlawing pits, so sad..)

And yes, as for the dog, thats amazing.. Dogs can be so aggravating but they know when their master is hurting..and you are its best friend..Im so happy to hear you have most retrieved. Keep the faith!

And thank you for sharing this.. I know it must have hurt to relive it, but it does help anyone who might have the same issue know what to do or give some insight on how to proceed. Best wishes. Amanda

Ok so after a long day yesterday I was sitting watching some TV trying to relax lastnight. My mind kept wondering I couldnt get this matter off my mind, I had to check one last place to see if I could see or find something. It was 130 am here and I walked to the end of my block where there is woods I walked around and found some of the tubs. This isnt getting any better because the babies were covered in ants being destroyed. So after that I had enough. I woke up bright and early this morning and had a talk with the neighbors, some of them said they saw the kids running but they didnt know what was going on. They all assured me they never seen the kids in there before and that they dont live in the neighbor hood.

I've not read every post in this thread and don't know if this has been mentioned but it sounds like this woulds also be a Humane Society issue. It is against the law to be cruel to any animal.

this is so messed up and the fact that im 11 this ruins, us kids, reputations. Let me let you in what we kids think i for not don't think like this but some do... they want to be cool and go and do some crappy stunts they will need to pay for later and don't realize it and then say oh that was fun lets do it again and it adds up. If i were you i wouldn't argue with the kid well maybe but ask him why the **** he did that and make sure you get the RIGHT response out of him. If he is a teen it actually maybe drugs plenty of people at my school do it and i try to stay away and so far its going well. They think their actions and drugs will calm them down or make them popular but really they need to suck it up and get a grip on themselves. We are in an economic problem and don't need the wannabe kids acting like this. Yes im 12 but i don't do this and when my friend decides to ring peoples doorbells and run away i stay away. I don't want to upset my mom and dad and get Clea (my cham) taken away. Pathetic that's all i can say and hope everything turns put good like SoCaliSons Lombardi came back :)

So you found the remaining babies? They were just being eaten alive essentially? Do yu think the ants were introduced on purpose? I dont know the height of the tubs or if ants can climb it.. so yes, I agree with whomever offered the Humane Society if you believe the ants were intentionally placed.

Even if the ants were introduced.... they would need a way back to the nest.... and ants can climb nearly anything.... so I would assume they found the chams on their own. and being FL.... aren't ants EVERYWHERE?

When I lived in Lakeforest, CA we had bad ant probs. It was seriously as if the foothills we lived on were a giant ant hill. if you left something out that they wanted, it would be swarmed immediately.

I'm pretty sure it went down something like "Hey, lets take these" and then once they were on the run they realized that it wasn't exactly something easy to hide from their parents, so they ditched them in the woods.

I assume they ditched them in the tubs (thats worse) and the ants got in the tub. Horrible stuff. Do you wish you hadn't found that now. :(
