I keep my crickets in a rubbermaid tub with fiberglass screen around the sides and top for ventilation. I buy 1000 at a time from my local pet store for $20, but the last batch i purchased it started to smell after about 2 weeks and a lot of them died...and i think this is because the bin was not clean enough. I give them cube type gut load along with slices of lemon to minimize smell. My problem is that in order to clean it I need to get the crickets into a different container without any escapees. Also if i dumped them all of the dead ones would be transferred along with the live ones which would make cleaning a waste of time..........help

do you have egg cartons and an extra container. if you do than take the ones that r on the egg carton and knock em off into a diff bin just keep that going then when you got all the good olne into a bin use bleach and clean it out rinse real good if you have that orange spray called wipe out 2 cleans disinfectants and deodorizer spray that in there as well and let that dry b4 putting your crickets in there that mite help
