how to hang plants in screen cage

My veiled will soon be going in her new extra large screen cage and I'd like some ideas on how to hang smallish plants in there without stressing the cage screen. Maybe I should just put them on high bases instead? Not sure that will work though, as the cage is the huge 48" high one.

I had my husband cut a bunch of wood-type vines from our woods and I'll be attaching those in different places so she can get around easily. The plants have me stumped though. Most of my plants are fairly small, not more than a foot tall and I'd like to hang some of them. If I was to invest in one large, tall plant, what is the best suggestion for species?

I use fishing line. Most is UV resistant and very strong. That and flat thumb tacks hold all plants, vines and branches in my cage and off the bottom

I make an H out of PVC pipe (schedule 40) and then run the green insulated plant wire through screen and attach it to the PVC. You could also using fishing line and attached it to the PVC.

Fishing line and zip ties work wonders. For extra support for the frame, place a wood panel on the top of the cage to tie the plants to. It'll distribute the weight of the plants around evenly.

This is pretty much how I do it. But I just put a dowel rod (home depot or Lowes) that will hold the weight I will be using. I never have to bother with any thing except the cord I put the plant on. I use wire to hold the plant on the dowel, BUT I use really thin wire, so I make sure the wire holds the cord securely, but is so close to the top, the cham can't hurt their feed. Very easy cheap method that does not hurt your cage.

Thank you everyone for the hints! For now, my hubby put a small board across the top and screwed in cup hooks. He actually put up two boards so the light didn't have to lay directly on the screen.

You can always get a huge schefflera plant that can sit in a pot on the ground. I have one that reaches to the top of my 48" tall cage.

I make an "H" shape out of PVC on the top of the cage and use that to create the anchor point for the plant to hang. Either a screw eye or a hole with a loop of wire works.
