humidity HELP

ok, exactly how many lights you have in there?
I saw at least you have 3? But, none of them so far is a UVB lamp.
If there is one, I think you have the compact one, yes? (the bulb is spiral).
Do i see you are using substrate?

It's a good thing that you are here and ask this Qs.
And bravo for you since you are trying to setup his cage be4 you buy the chameleon! That is definitely a smart move.

can you answer these Qs:
Cage Info:

* Cage Type - What kind of cage are you using? What is the size?
* Lighting - What kind of lighting are you using? How long do you keep the lights on during the day?
* Temperature - What temperature range have you created? Basking spot temp? What is the temperature at night?
* Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels?
* Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
* Location - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas?

Chameleon Info:

* Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon.

* Supplements - What are you dusting your feeders with and what kind of schedule do you use?
* Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? Do you see your chameleon drinking?

yea thats substrate. i have the compact and the long flourestant one. they're both 5.0. should i go 10.0 on it cuz im havin a feeling its not bright enough.

i had one basking light and a night light both going at the same time and thats why i think the humidity was gettin sucked out cuz i turned the night one off and it went up. its like 45% right now

First take out the substrate...and take out the compact uvb bulb change it for a normal 50 watt household bulb.

yea now that i only have one heat lamp running the humidity is alot higher. thanks guys. and im gonna remove the substrate right now.

well im not home too much so i cant mist that often. i leave the dripper on all day. and i put a screen on the top on the bucket so he wont fall in. and on second thought the humidity isnt really what i want it to be. its back down to 45%. do i have too much lighting in there or somthing?

OK...I dont use the reptariums but I hear people recommend using the 10.0 tubes for that cage? Maybe Brad wil help you out on that;) besides the tube all you need is a basking bulb (you might have to try out different wattages to see which is best since your plant isnt near the top) you can use a houshold bulb, or a zoo med basking bulb. It will be nice if you could get the double fluorescent fixture... so you could keep the UVB bulb and a grow light or another fluorescent bulb to bring more light on the cage (its not necessary though)
