What kind of Chameleon do you have? I can't tell what's in your Avatar. If you have a veiled chameleon, your humidity should range between 40 -70%.
Panther chameleons and Jackson's require about 50-80%.

I have a veiled yemen cham and my humidity is reading 52 after spaying my viv really well with warm water.

It's on the low end, so I would try and either spray more or maybe add live plants if you don't already have them. Also, what kind of enclosure are you using? Glass/plexi or screen?

Hi my viv is wooden round three sides and glass fronted humidity this morning is reading 70 so i presume this is ok now?
Also he was quite cold this morning when i woke up but have now placed him under his basking light.

Shouldn't be struggling with humidity in a wooden/glass enclosure really.

Bacteria apocalypse waiting to happen. Veils can easily thrive with RH as low as 35-40%. However, 45-60% is preferable. There natural habitat can range from 10% on up, depending on location. There needs to be time between mistings for the cage to dry some. If not the mold and other bacteria will go off. Vivs are a very delicate balance. Make sure to account for such high and constant dampness.

The Humidity is stable at 50% now and i tend to mist in the mornings before i go to work and then around 5 or 6pm when i am home, he seems happy enough and is eating well. This is a very challenging hobby but i am enjoying looking after him.

Sorry to say but wodden or glass vivariums are not for chameleons, it would cause respiratory diseases and infections, you need to change it for a screen cage ASAP.

Screen dosn't work for all locations in the world. For example, I live in Sweden, here is pretty cold and dry. The average chameleon owner here buys a glass terrarium. Before you demand such a thing of another user please ask for information where they live etc. Screen dosn't fit for all chameleon owners.

I truly hope it Works, cause they look beautiful, I see your point, but I still think is very poor ventilation the one you get with the glass terrarium that the post talks about, it only has mesh on the top, plus add the UVB and basking lights, maybe dripper , ceramic heater maybe, the area for ventilation gets even smaller and smaller it does not provide adequate air flow, and often the chameleons can develop skin issues and respiratory illnesses from the lack of ventilation. Even if you live in a cold place you should provide your pet everything he needs to recreate his own habitat with every parameter as accurate as it can, including ventilation and glass (or Wood) are not the best options for him, its the best option option for you because you live north Europe, this little guy is from Yemen and Saudi Arabia! You need to adjust to him, he doesnt need to adjust to Sweden. Every chameleon forums or web pages recommend sceen cages and most experienced keepers as well. Only Places that Ive seen recommending glass terrarium for chams are just bad petstores. I will not go just with "one post" or the minority of cham glass terraiums supporters and wont risk my little buddy.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
Location - Where are you geographically located?
Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about.

Yeah I understand your argument. Exo terra got terrariums (which I uses) that have ventilation close to the bottom and screen sealing which provides the airflow. A screen would be too cold for a chameleon. I even have problems with keeping my glass terrarium warm cause it's so big. I think its easier for a chameleon to adjust in a glass one just cause my climate are not anything alike where my cham is from and with the glass one theres a chance for me to make a bioactive form thats more alike where he's from. But I see you live in mexico so you sure know what you're doing to keep your chams the best for your climate ^^ Our friend here who asked for help seems to be from UK if I understand it right.
