humidity

I have a Jackson's. Don't they need it higher? Could my humidity gauge be wrong? It just seems like an awful lot of water going in with no change.

Apologies, you are correct about Jacksons. I have one as well and aim for the 65-85% range.

One thing you can do is hook up a tube and pump that mist right into the cage. Many people who keep Jacksons do this.

Check out this video on Jackson care, it explains how to do what I mentioned above as well as other great tips.

I thought I saw a couple humidifiers running from the top of the cage. Anyone have any trouble with lights or anything on the top getting a little too damp?

Don't mean to high jack the thread but since it is about humidity I have a question. My rooms throughout my house stay about 30% right now even in my solarium where my kndoor pond is. will just watering the plants inside the screen enclosure bring it up enough? I plan on getting a panther in the coming month, once I can get everything set up right and clean u my dragon room a bit for the cages.

Do you do anything else for misting or does this do the job? How often do you run it?

Works for me... Humidity around 70 and I have a dripper the whole day. Mist comes on about 3 times a day. Still working to see if she would need more.

A good misting system like MistKing or Aquazamp should be able to run frequently enough and for long enough to keep the humidity up.
Live plants do help, a dripper helps and plastic sheeting covering up to 3 sides helps.
Panthers don't require as much humidity as Jackson's chams do.

I have a crested, Sailfin or the other name trioceros cristatus. Required a lot of humidity and she likes the base and most humid part. The bottom and base of the plant somewhere around 70-90 at times. I don't have covers or plastic on the side but the plant those help.

I was thinking of going with a rain dome but wondering now if I should go with a mister instead. Of course I would assume they would both have same results on humidity.

It those the job for me... Don't want a wet Rain forest either. One side is humid and also heat. My girl likes the base like I said. Not much into the draining part, raised the cage about 3 inches and slide under a flip big bind plastic cover. Come home and just empty it. Not much work on that end
