Hunger strike after meds

So my panther was having diarrhea I took him to the vet and brought a fecal sample they said he had a bacterial over growth and parasites . They gave me baytril and a dewormer both of which he has finished and now he is on a hunger strike. The vet told me to force feed and I have been but he just isn't interested in food is there anything out there to maybe jog his appetite?

Baytril is hard on them and some chams stop eating during treatment. I suspect it makes them feel sick. If he had good body weight before all this started he isn't going to starve right now. What you need to focus on is keeping him well hydrated. Dehydrated chams don't eat much if any. I would not force feed anything unless he stops drinking. If you can get him drinking and drip some Pedialyte on his nose or syringe feed it to him directly. It can provide electrolytes and some calories that might help him recover faster.

Welcome to the forums. I'm sorry to hear that your chameleon has stopped eating. How many days has it been since he last ate? What kind of parasites did he have? What meds was he put on for the parasites? You can try some hornworms. They will often eat green food when not eating anything else.
