Hunger strike duration?

How long do hunger strikes normally last? My 6 month old veiled doesn't want to eat anything. I don't want to give in yet and give him Supers. He won't look at the Phoenix worms, crickets or dubias. I tried cup feeding and hunting and it doesn't matter. He shed earlier in the week. He is climbing up and down his cage and walking around the bottom a lot. He has been in his 24x24x48 for 3 weeks. I have seen him drinking water today. He hasn't pooped in a couple days I assuming because he isn't eating. He goes every day normally. The last two nights he also went to his sleeping spot about 3 hours before lights out. Usually it's maybe an hour or less before he gets comfy. Is this all just a phase they go through?

Have you tried silkworms or hornworms? They are much healthier than supers and lots of chams like them. I have a panther about the same age and he has stopped eating crickets over the last week or so as well. He goes right after silks, supers, and hornworms though.

I haven't tried silks or horned yet. It's really cold here in Northern California (was below 0F in many places overnight) and didn't want to risk them dying during shipping. I plan on getting then as soon as the weather warms up above 40F at night.

They can add a heat pack to the shipping box and you can get them for one day delivery. It cost extra though.

I had a female panther not eat for around 12 days. She was a nice healthy weight and drank still. I was assuming she was going to have an infertile clutch, which she did not. She ignored ; dubia, crickets, phoenix worms, silkworms, and hornworms. I finally tried superworms, which she had never had and that's what she wanted.

Now she is back to eating a variety, but prefers superworms still.

How long has it been?

It has been 3 days. I had some Phoenix worms that turned into flys. I put them in and he gobbled up both flys in about 5 seconds. I put crickets and dubias in and he just ignored them.

You could try Blue bottle flies.

Not the most nutritious, but something to get his appetite going again.

http://www.mantidpets.com - Has a lot of less common insects you could try. I would get the pupae, not the spikes so they turn into flies faster. Or order both and see if he likes those!

I just got horned worms for my veiled and he doesn't seem interested in them I got the worms Saturday so it hasn't been long at all but does anyone have any pointers

I just ordered some reptiworms, horned and supers from Mulberry Farms. I should get them by Wednesday. Karma has drank the most I ever seen today both when I misted him and off a ficus leaf which I good in that regard. He did eat 1 cricket today and 1 super. I just replaced my 5.0 today with a 10.0 as well. I'll keep ya posted to see how the horns work out!

It is a Reptibeeze XL 24x24x48 with a lot of vines and a 3 foot tall Ficus so there is a lot of shade. It is the 18 inch liner bulb.

here is a photo of the enclosure.

It has gotten really cold here. The ambient house temps are around 70 during the day but his lower half of his cage is in the lower 60s. His basking spot is still around 83. Night temps are about 66.
