I am so sad.

I totally agree. Have you been to Petsmart recently (not to mention the threads on it...)? Therein lies my point. When one dies or is purchased, they will just restock it without EVER changing protocol.

Boys, boys.... no one ever said that they didn't get it. Youre message was loud and clear and we all agreed with you. And no one ever said that UG was a GREAT place for chameleons. What I said was that I've never had a bad experience with me and they actually made good on something they got wrong. HOWEVER, I am not saying that you can't send e-mails and I'm not saying that you can't try. If anyone dies a little inside when I see this (which is why I can't step foot into a shelter to this day...), it's me, but there are people out there who care more about business than they do 4 melleri (in this case).

Hmm, touchy, being that I was in no way referring to you, Julie. :)

I would also like to add that underground doesnt restock animals like a chain would, this is the first time they have ever had melleri, so I am confident that once they are taken out of their posession, no more will have to suffer in it.

i saw them yesterday as well...brokemy heart...they are very in expensive if someone would rescue them!!!!1

Being that one is damaged Im trying my hardest to get a discount on it. They can't truly sell a damaged animal for full price like that.

Really saddening to see this.

I do have a question though, are these being sold as WC?

Let me know if you want my assistance in anything. I can help.

Will do Naomi:)

Julie- I understand what you are trying to say and you really proved my point in the second quote. I got Clea from there and if i would've known better i wouldn't have BUT i honestly think out of the clutch she was raised in, she is probably the only one that survived until now.

They also had a laying bin for a fischers that was 4-6 inch deep. It was horrific. Just IMO

I hope me, Danny, and Naomi can save them. Wish us luck

Pet shops are by far the worse places for chameleons. I wish you well Stefan - I know how upsetting it can be. Luckily, I have a brilliant shop that Lily and Tommy came from and they really know their stuff. In fact they have now stopped selling chameleons because they are fed up with the amount that end up on our local advertising website.

However, with regard to the water bowl issue - before I got Lily I did plenty of research and when I went to visit her I saw she had a water bowl, as did all the chameleons and other lizards. I asked 'Does she drink from the bowl?' (knowing full well that they don't) and the guy said 'No they don't drink from the bowls - we have to provide fresh water in a bowl as part of the pet shop licence'! So, if it's the same over in the US, that is why the chams have water bowls.

Thats interesting. Thanks for that info

Sadly this is an email i got today from one of the guys

You just don't know what you are talking about come in and talk to me and I will explain why you are so wrong in your ASSUMPTIONS not your facts.

Was that in response to the email you sent that you posted higher up in this thread? I would certainly love to go to that store, take pictures, and then post on every avenue my findings, and see how that works out for their business.

I wonder if Danny heard back from his email to them???

Yes that was the response and i talked to Danny and he never got a response

Their care sheets are pretty WRONG-is all I can say. I certainly wish I lived closer. Can you send him am email back and ask what assumptions they think you made when others have gone in and have seen the same conditions. Did they think you were wrong about misting them?

I have a feeling that they think it is WRONG to care about the animals in the first place and simly care about making money. I hate pet stores.

This is super cereal Manbearpig.

? lol

he just emailed me back and said this....

No you just don't know the facts.
"know more than you" how old are you 15?
we rain chamber the animals 3 times daily we mist them all day we hand feed them roaches and silkworms, the water in the cage is for enviornmental humidty not for drinking and the superworms are for moving stimuli to encourage eating you didn't ask like a man so you don't know, you act like a child so I'll treat you like one. I might have welcomed your help now I reject it because you are a condesending, arrogant fool.
