I found my chameleon!!!

Well this morning I started my day out as usual. Got dressed and walked to school. Well while I was walking to school I happened to see a large head. I ran over and there he was! I literally grabbed him lol. He was not even mad to see me, he is really nice! He is super skinny and dehydrated. I'm just so excited and wow how did he survive two months in las Vegas blazing heat?! Ill take pics after school because I'm so late now.

Congrats Shawn!!!!! That is the BEST news I'ver hear in ages. :):D:):D That's why I always tell people to keep looking for them. They are out there.

Wow! You may want to get him to a vet if possible if he is in bad shape. Congrats!!

Wow! That is incredible! Post some pics of before and after and then after again! So happy for you!

I had an outdoor enclosure get blown over by the wind way back in the day when I still used outdoor cages. I'm a bigtime 'field guy',.. I'm always out 'critter hunting' if you will. My favorite hunt is the 'Nightime Jaunt'. For years I've known that if you go out at night certain species are easier to find and catch at night. Green anoles sleep on branches and turn literally flouresent green. A high powered LED headlamp illuminates them effortlessly. Chameleons turn extremely light colored at night as well. So I strapped on the headlamp, walked out the back door, began to scan the shrub line and within 20-30 seconds- BOOM!!! There she was, shining like an emerald. So make a note; future 'liberatees' can be easily found at night, and when your friends say, "Wow!!! How did you ever find 'em in all that dense vegetation??!!!" tell 'em "Jdog!!!!"

He's been gone for about two or three months. I am just so surprised to find him.. How did he survive without water in this heat?!

natural instinct haha. thats sweet man im sure you were super stoked when you spotted him out. some dramatic slow motion running with arms open

your chameleon now has a story to tell to the others. hes a wild boy now

That is great!!! I can't believe you found him, great work. A veiled can handle some serious weather conditions I guess. :)

I watched your story and told my friends about it.
I had lost my veiled overnight and found him on a bush the next day.
I'll let everyone know that you found him!!!!
So happy for you.

That's great that you found your chameleon!

This reminds me of my story. I had numerous iguanas growing up as a child and always seemed to lose some ocasionally. I would find them weeks, sometimes even months later just walking around outside like nothing had ever happened. It's nice to see you found your veiled as well. :)

That's AWESOME!!!!!!
Ibet your heart skipped a beat when you spotted him!!!!!! How far from home was he ?
