I freakin HATE my monsoon

A bigger piece of crap was not made than this. I spent a couple hours running tubing to attach TWO more nozzles to the four I had already set up. When I turned it on there was barely any water pressure and the spray was not a mist. I ended up taking the extra nozzles off and putting it back the way I had it and it still won't work, no pressure in one cage and barely any in the other AND the stupid timer is not working now! I want to blow it up!

Unfortunately, with just being in the hospital over Thanksgiving, missing work, etc. I just don't have the $$ for an upgrade right now. I am on the third unit. I asked for my $$ back and they said OK but sent another monsoon, so I figured I would use that and hope for the best. It has only been in operation maybe 3 months!

That stinks. I have a mist king in the living room for my 4 cages but i was looking to add more chams in my office and wanted a monsoon for in there. one or two cages but it sounds like they arent worth it. are you using any kinda of repti safe in the water? our tap water in seattle isnt the worst but i know it isnt the best. it has killed foggers in the past. now I use repti safe in my mist king water bucket and nozzles have been fine so far.

I know what you mean exo terra sent me 5 monsoons they kept spraying and flooding my cage if you have a drainage system get the aquazamp rain dome

Strangely I seem to have the only monsoon on the planet that works great. It probably won't stay that way if it goes the same way as most others, but for now it works.

I think it's all a matter of how the tubes are set up in proportion to how powerful the pump is. I have to fix irrigation lines on golf courses and just slight inclines and declines can cause pressure changes. Just something to consider, I don't have an automated mister yet myself. Also that being said there is still better quality systems out there like someone mentioned already the Mist King.

Would you like me to send you a pic of the ten i have in storage lol they sent me like nine after i complained then i flipped sent them my receipts and they sent me a check. Mistking hands down is whats up however, if its just 2 cages and i know most will disagree with this but i 1 went a year with no issues with a repti rain http://www.amazon.com/Zoo-Med-Repti...TF8&qid=1386980145&sr=8-1&keywords=repti+rain if you want pm me i can show how to hook that up with no holes in screen

I love paypal -pay me later- If I go over my chameleon budget I have to buy my husband a bass boat- they cost more than a couple of chameleons- I got my aquazamp after the monsoon lasted 2 months- I am so happy with it - I only wish I had gotten two domes -

Am I the only person that just hooks up to my houses water supply for my misting system? I spent about $80 at Home Depot and just hooked up at my washing machine outlets. It supplies almost 20 cages. Is there a reason that I'm missing as to why no one else does this?

As soon as I can afford it, I am looking to get an aquazamp. Not sure about the raindome as I do want a dripper so they can have access to water the whole time they are awake. I know that the length of the tubing and the number of nozzles affect water pressure but Monsoon claims it can support 8 nozzles so adding 2 to the 4 I had set up should not have caused it not to work at all in one cage and barely work in the other, and when I returned to the original set-up there is no reason it shouldn't have worked!
rshewfel I would be very interested in what you set up from Home Depot.

I wil never regret my Aquazamp purchase and Kevin was awesome to deal with. I love the rain domes. I'm glad I had the forums to do my research or I would have bought a Monsoon...

Well I live in an apartment and can't risk that kind of water accident risk. Also only have 2 enclosures and they are in my dining room.

I agree with you. I have had my Monsoon going on 2 years(give or take) with no problems at all. Further more it was a used system that I bought for $50 complete and the only thing that I have upgraded was buying couple of raindome kits from mistking and they both worked fine with the monsoon, basically the same gauge tubing, just had to add longer tubing to create a larger wider area of mist. Sorry to hear about your bad experience but Im happy with mine and hope it still keeps working for as long as I need it.
