So I'm pleased to say I got some snails too today - they are aspersa/muller bred for human consumption, won't be trying them though! - will be my new livefood colony - lovely big healthy creatures which is nice to see.
I think I have enough;):D
Big adults

Here's the little babies for you @Remkon

Ugh! Shudder! Horrid icky things, lol! I hope your chams enjoy them though!
Hi Tiff- they are such beautiful creatures- not icky at all- they are so graceful like slow mo gazelles- you wouldn't like my african land snails- their feet are long enough to stretch from my elbow to wrist when slithering along.

Those are pretty good size snails.
They are monsters- I wish I could pluck up the courage to eat them- Not sure I could though, I'll just stick to liking and watching them but have occasional thoughts of butter and garlic and french bread ;)

They are actually pretty good in a butter garlic sauce not what you would expect.

I know - we get locusts - ha ha!!

How long do you cook them for? so they are not like eating elastic bands?

I know you guys do I wish i could get some. And I'm not sure they where cooked for me when i had them but kinda i would compare them to kinda like the texture of octopus but not as chewy. but they have alot of flavor if cooked right. i think i ate 12-14 snails that night and loved them.

I don't know how I'd feed my chams without locusts, I guess as you get lots of big wild caught insects which we just don't get so that must be great, cicada season etc? but its very reassuring to be able to order hundreds of adult locusts if you need them,
I'll check out the recipes for them, they are no different to prawns or whelks so I shouldn't be squeamish, I like the little copper dishes that you can get to put the shells in too!

ya i think thats what i ate them out of when i had them it was a little circular dish with little indents for the snails to go in. And do you guys get roaches too?

Yep, that's the dish. Pretty things.
I forget that so many species aren't allowed etc, I was just looking at snails for snail in the US but it said we can't send over this state line or something. Blimey.
We do have lots of roaches for sale too, but you get roaches don't you or is it certain states that can get them? Sorry I don't know.
I have a feeding tray in one of the glasshouses for the parsons, I put a roach or two in for them, closed up the houses last October , didn't realise there was a roach in the tray , do you know he was still alive now , went through the winter!!! Can you believe it, tough little b...rs.

ya they are they can live forever with out food or water and ya i have a few different types of roaches but ya the snails will be hard to get.

Nope! Certainly wouldn't like those! I'll stick with my spider!
