I im sure my cham is really sick this time....

Is it, perhaps, combining the increase in humidity with the increase in temperatures that makes it beneficial?

Just a note on warm mist humidifiers. They've gone out of fashion for use with human children because they tend to be bacteria breeding machines. Keepers of human children are not as good at maintaining enclosures as keepers of chameleons, so this should not be an issue for you.

Just take it away once a day and run first pure white vinegar through it, (it so stinks when it vaporizes, if you can put it outside you'll be happier) then one tank of water before returning it to the chameleon's area.

Just came back from the vet....

i went to Tom Greek's vet..

he said cham looked healthy and didnt show any signs of respiration infections. But he did give me a "Baytril Suspension " to give him 1 time a day for 5 days.

I still dont know the reason why he got sick.A few people said that it was cause i misted too much, but tom said in order for him to get sick from that was if it was always wet!, which i didnt do, he did have dry periods.

Well, as long he's good.

THANKS!!

Update on prodigy........ 2nd day after vet visit.

Tom gave me Baytril suspension to give him 1 drop a day.I gave him 1 that day, 1 yesterday and 1 today. He doesn't seem to be getting better or worse, or am i speaking to early?.I noticed something out of the ordinary today, he pooped in two pieces and the second piece was all black (not the usual dark brown) and without the white tip.

he seems to be doing the same things before i took him to the vet. When tom seen him he seemed ok, wasn't showing none of the symptoms but as soon as i brought him back home it was back to being sick.

Can i give him reptaid along with the prescribed medicine tom greek gave me?, cause i do know that reptaid is all natural/organic.

Keep in mind that reptiles heal slower than we do. It may take close to a week to see some improvement. On the other hand, if he gets worse, you may want to take him back in ASAP. Frogg had a respiratory infection. He was given Baytril and seemed to be doing ok, but after a week, started getting worse again. We ended up adding a second antibiotic. It took almost 2 months to completely clear him up.
It was very stressful to take him to the vet. Generally they won't show signs of weakness/sickness when you take them there. If they do, they are very sick. You may have caught the infection early, which is good.
I would recommend not givin the Reptaid while he is on antibiotics. Once the meds are done, you can go back to/start giving it again. I believe the package insert states this also.

Good advice!

If in fact your cham has an infection and the Baytril does not clear it up, you may have to try a different antibiotic. Do not give the Reptaid with the anitibiotic. Follow what Dr. Greek said to do. ;):)

It sounds a lot like a lung infection to me, it can be caused by too high humidity or by cold. I once had it with a chameleon when he was outside when it was too windy. I've treated it with anti-biotics, Baytril. So go see a vet for some anti-biotics.
