the way to go

heres what i did a year ago....so i was 13 like you are...(will be very soon)

i was stupid and let the guys at petsmart trick me into buying 250 buck of trash....he lived good for a while..then i learned that the compact i had him on was bad....so i asked my parents...and just like yours they said no....cause after the light comes new food. and a new cage. and a new everything...then i flat out said i was dumb and over exited to buy the lizard and said id pay for the light......so i did with my money....now he is in a vision cage!

and i have a chameleon!

i guess im a good talker/convencier!(my only downfall is i cant spell)

also its summer...and the vield chameleon thrives in florida.......thats why they are becoming a problem like the ball pythions and burms.....so why not buld an extra cheap cage......but dont skimp out on the necciessities!

keep here in the cage for all of summer and september...then take her and the cage inside and have that summer cage be her year round cage sinse she is used to it by now...saves money...and gives you and your dad bonding time...and hopegully he can learn some of the special needs of the cham while Helping You bulid the cage....

Where clea lives, he could keep the Cham outside pretty much yr round with the exception of maybe a couple of fluke cold days during winter. Boca/Miami only has 2 seasons, Spring and Summer.

Oh Naich, This will spell check any open web dock you are typing in. Even the addy bar. ;)

thats true, and during the winter they can go through hibernation.

my oustalet lives outside year round, so far no problems.....well besides during hurricanes.

It gets way to hot for them.......a female veiled would really cook up a big clutch of eggs......it not fry.

Would suck if you did, i've enjoyed reading your posts :)
What happens happens right? It's your first time taking care of a complex animal and you failed... hmmm we learn from experiences right?
It's not too late anyway, there's plenty of people willing to help as you can see ^^

Yeah, that's true. I mean you are just 13, right ? Here and in many other forums are many persons who are several years older who also failed in someways. Which chameleon keeper never failed ? I think no one.

But here comes the part where you can differentiate them: Some going on doing wrong things and some listen to the advice of other keepers and try to minimize their mistakes.

I think you are clearly one of second type so keep on ! :)

Yes Simon I realized last night it doesn't take one person to stop me. It takes all of you, but you guys are nice enough to accept the fact that I'm young and a begginer. What I said in the beggining was duke. I'm not leavin. Last night a
Member on here helped me make a feeding and calcium schedule. I really appreciate all you guys do, not just for me. I also enjoy reading new posts ad learn a lot. My reptisun is probably coming next week and I'm feeding 2 crickets 3 times a day to her. Morning afternoon and dinner time. She also eats a lot of greens

Ok i guess i am a copy cat, I didn't read far into this post before I PMed you i will sent to a light and fixture. Sometimes you might need help not provided by your family, so then you just do the best you can. You are trying to do your best, you are learning and correcting your mistakes, and I think you should stick with it. We are here to help you. If some people sound mean to you, they are just not saying something as well as the mean it to be. I have make and still make mistakes so you aren't alone. Just hang in there!!!:):)

Check out this blog on raising a female veiled: http://raisingkittytheveiledchameleon.blogspot.com/2007/12/keeping-female-veiled.html

There's no way to keep a female veiled outside in south FL and keep her temps in the low 80's. I take my girl outside in the shade after work and in just a couple minutes she's up to 90 and I have to take her back in.

Regardless of Brad's site, they are breeding in the southern Florida tropical heat. Kinda gotta have females to for that to happen. Perhaps only the strongest of the strong survive?

no, no, the whole purpose of him not keeping him outside is so she doesnt lay an infertile clutch, if he didnt care then itd be fine.
