There's an unknown lump in mouth

33.jpg

And there are also unknown bumps in the elbow.

And he's making hissing noises and opening his mouth often

can't use your tongue properly when hunting.

someone help me :(

Hi and welcome. Honestly I’ve no idea what those lumps are and your best course of action is a vet visit asap. Adding the list of chameleon-experienced vets for you. You may need to travel a bit for a good vet. Also, you say “he”, but it looks like you have a she.
I would like to see some pics of your enclosure, including lights. If whatever has caused the lumps is related to your husbandry, we can help with getting everything correct.

I’ll put my feedback in bold and split this into two parts. I see that you are from South Korea, so if English isn’t your native language and you don’t understand something, just ask and I’ll try to explain better. :)

Chameleon Info:

  • Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
  • - 1year If your chameleon is at least a year old, then you do indeed have a female. Has she laid eggs before? She doesn’t need to be mated or even see a male to produce eggs. They just won’t be fertile. It is more important than ever to have all of your care as perfect as possible to prevent any egg laying problems. Here is a blog that will help. https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/veiled-chameleon-laying-101.2488/
  • Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
  • - No handling Is it always good to work on building trust. Even though she may never be very friendly, it’s still important that there be trust. Food is a great motivator. https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/building-trust-with-your-chameleon.2396/
  • Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
    - 1day 5 per day cricket It’s best to offer a variety of feeders and to take good care of the feeder insects so that they are nutritious. Keeping the feeder insects fed with fresh greens, vegetables and a little fruit is perfect. Do avoid spinach and other greens that are high in oxalates. I don’t want to tell you to reduce your girl’s food right now because she needs to recover from whatever those bumps are. Once she has fully healed from them, you will want to reduce her feedings to 3 days per week. This will help prevent her from producing a large amount of eggs and possibly prevent her from producing any at all.
  • Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
  • - no include d3 calcium + vitamin A I’m not sure I understand what you mean. The correct supplementation is to lightly dust a phosphorus-free calcium without D3 at every feeding. Then one feeding every two weeks you want to give a calcium with D3 and also a multivitamin one feeding every two weeks. Don’t use the multivitamin and calcium with D3 on the same day. Usually we space them a week apart. For example, on the 1st and 14th of a month you’ll use the calcium with D3 and then on the 7th and 21st you’ll use the multivitamin.
  • Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
  • - Automatic sprayer for 40 seconds twice a day It would be better to increase the time to at least 2 minutes right before lights go on and off.
  • Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
  • - 4 months ago, excrement is normal very good
  • History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.
  • - Six months ago, I opened my eye incorrectly, so I went to the hospital and was prescribed antibiotic injections and medicine. I’m guessing this happened to your chameleon and not you. Which eye was it? Was it on the same side as the bump in her mouth? When did you first notice the bump in her mouth? Are you sure that she didn’t have it when she had the eye problem? I’m asking because I wonder if it is somehow related to the eye. Unlike us and some other animals, when chameleons get an infection or abscess, the pus isn’t thin and doesn’t break down or go away with antibiotics. It’s thick like a cheese and has to be physically removed by the veterinarian. If that is an abscess in her mouth, the vet will have to not only prescribe antibiotics to treat it, but open it to remove the pus.

Cage Info:
  • Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
  • - 40*40*90 screen This is much too small for an adult chameleon. The minimum size needed is 60x60x120. Screen is perfect if you live in a humid area. If you are in a dry area, then a hybrid (mix of screen and glass or acrylic) is perfect.
  • Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
  • - Exotera UVB 100 25w This is a huge problem and I hate to be the one to tell you that your pretty girl probably has metabolic bone disease and that the bump on her leg is probably a badly fractured bone. The screw in uvb lights aren’t able to provide the uvb levels needed for a chameleon to be healthy. The standard is a long T5HO fixture with either a ReptiSun 5.0 or Arcadia 6%. I can only recommend ReptiSun and Arcadia for the uvb bulbs. I tried a ReptiZoo brand and the uvb levels were very low. The fixture works fine after almost a year or so, but the bulb was awful. Once you have the correct uvb light, you want it to be about 21 cm above her basking area.
  • Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
  • - 25~29。
  • - 1-2 hours in the morning with spot bulbs
30~35 degrees Celsius Your temperatures are much too hot. You want your basking temperature to stay no higher than around 26c. At night, if you are able to achieve a drop below at least 20, that is perfect. Not all of us can reach such cool nights, but we do our best to try.
  • Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
  • - Weekly 40-60%
20-30% at night The ideal humidity during the day is between 30-50%. If you are able to have the cool night temperatures below at least 20c, then you can run a fogger for a few hours at night to raise humidity as high as possible. This simulates the hydration chameleons get in the wild from fog.
  • Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
  • - Skin Dapsus Ok, that is a type of pothos which is safe. Since veileds like to nibble at their plants, it’s important that we use only clean, safe and live plants for them. Pothos is perfect, but you may want to add more. Putting some graphics below of safe plants. Also adding a photo of one of my enclosures (for a panther chameleon) to give you an idea of what your girl needs.

  • Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
  • The cage is in front of the window Is there any sun that comes in and warms her enclosure? If there is, I suggest moving her away so she won’t overheat. Also, you don’t say how high her enclosure is. Chameleons feel safest when they are up high and prefer if they can look down at us.

  • Location - Where are you geographically located?
  • - South Korea

Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about.
1. Unexplained swelling inside the neck I have no idea what this is. Maybe an abscess or maybe a growth of some kind. If it is preventing her from eating, it is serious and needs immediate veterinary care.
2. Unexplained swelling in the elbow This I suspect is a very bad fractured bone. However, only a veterinarian can tell you for sure. Do be very gentle when handling her though. Her bones are probably very fragile.
3. Can't swallow a meal Very serious problem
4. make a hissing sound Do you mean she hisses at you, or is hissing all the time, like when she breathes? It’s normal for a chameleon to hiss at us when we get too close. It is not at all normal for them to be making any noises at any other times and this needs immediate veterinary care.
5. can't use tongue properly This is probably caused by mbd, the bump in her mouth, or both. Again, she needs immediate veterinary care.

I do hope whatever is going on with her is treatable. If she does have mbd, there’s no way to cure any damage that may have already happened. But correcting the cause of it will prevent any further damage. Again, if you don’t understand anything I’ve said, do let me know and I’ll try to be clearer. Some excellent resources are https://chameleonacademy.com/chameleon-husbandry-program-getting-started-with-chameleons/ and Neptune the Chameleon on YouTube. I believe you can probably set subtitles on YouTube videos. The Chameleon Academy also has videos on YouTube, if that is of any help. Please, do let us know what your veterinarian says and does for your little beauty.
