i need some help ...

i bought yesterday liquid vitamines... they content vit A and vit D...are special for reptiles.they said to give to the animal 3-4drops/100g corporal wheight ...per week ...

What source is the vitamin A? Preformed or beta carotene?

Vitamin D3 and preformed vitamin A can build up in the system...so don't overdo it.

If it doesn't say beta carotene then its likely a preformed vitamin A.

Like I said...preformed vitamin A and D3 can build up in the system.

Here are some articles about both...

"A single dose can fill all available space in the liver. In most animals, it takes WEEKS for the liver to get back to normal concentrations of vitamin A after being at maximum capacity once all vit A has been excluded from the diet. "

"Excess Vitamin D actually causes ABSORPTION of bone. It actually mimics hyperparathyroidism."
"Excess Vitamin D causes inappropriate mineralization of organs such as the kidney or soft tissue. Excess Vit D3 and Calcium has been implicated in mineralization of large blood vessels, causing cardiac disease."
