ID this critter from my cricket bin

Yeah, those do very well as a clean up crew. If I find them in my cricket bin, I remove most of them and put them in my roach colony. However, I hate receiving crickets with tons of these in the mix. I know they keep down ammonia, but I never have crickets long, because I feed so many off. They seem to be very prolific and before long there are tons of them. Josh's frogs never has these in his crickets and that is why I buy from him.

I assume since I have never seen them that Ghann's never has them either.

Glad I don't see them in my crickets ever, Fruit Flies are another story though:roll eyes:

Yep curt, they certainly do a good job cleaning. I just hate that they multiply so fast, then my bins become crowded with them. Still they are no harm, just annoying to me.

This is a link to the ebay item mentioned in my post. I am thinking about getting them, but just not sure of how they will reproduce and how many is too many? I found one once and tossed it. I had no idea what it was until I saw this ebay ad. I would love not having to deal with dead roaches.

Hey there, these reproduce very quickly. They are highly prolific.

Yea Dermestids are an awesome beneficial insect. We're thinking of setting up a colony to use in our roach bins as well, just some people think of them as "pests" and that is not the case at all.

I guess after you look past the creep crawly look, and know what they do they aren't that bad, I still rather clean my own crickets. :D

I don't keep roaches so I have no idea about that.
