Just did a quick search "most beetles can not/do not fly" I'm ganna use some to polish up my deer skull.
MOST Beetles have a hard outer wing that is used to protect the FLIGHT wings that lay under them. Most can and do fly!

Yeah, those do very well as a clean up crew. If I find them in my cricket bin, I remove most of them and put them in my roach colony. However, I hate receiving crickets with tons of these in the mix. They seem to be very prolific and before long there are tons of them. Josh's frogs never has these in his crickets and that is why I buy from him.
I assume since I have never seen them that Ghann's never has them either.
Great thread!!! This is why I log on every day! So much to learn here. Last night i was complaining about those spiney looking bugs in my crickets as i was picking them out. After reading this thread. i noticed no cricket smell and i go threw 2to5 bx a week .GREAT INFO thanks again.

This is a link to the ebay item mentioned in my post. I am thinking about getting them, but just not sure of how they will reproduce and how many is too many? I found one once and tossed it. I had no idea what it was until I saw this ebay ad. I would love not having to deal with dead roaches.
Yea Dermestids are an awesome beneficial insect. We're thinking of setting up a colony to use in our roach bins as well, just some people think of them as "pests" and that is not the case at all.
