My dad thinks it is weird to own more than one cham. Help me prove him wrong so he will let me get more!:)

The number one way to get what you want in this situation is to earn and use your own money. You do not even need a full time job. Just find some stuff that you do not need anymore and sell it on craigslist. Politely ask permission first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have two veileds and my first panther coming next week! :D

Not to mention a bearded dragon, an African clawed frog, two rats, and a cat who tries to torture them all. =P

I have two Veileds - Amy and Tommy. I also have two crested geckos - Splat and Buffie who I hope to breed next year! Cresties are even more addictive than chameleons I think! That said I am hoping to get Jackson baby pretty soon!:D

I have 2; 1 Turquoise Veiled and 1 Nosy Faly/Be panther; both boys... I'd have more if I had the space...lol :)

I have a total of 16 adult chams plus 23 baby jacksonii xantholophus and 9 baby jacksonii jacksonii, 2 of the adult female jacksonii jacksonii are gravid, I have 31 panther chameleon eggs incubating and 2 gravid panther chameleons due to lay eggs any day now.

I have three, and it's great to have a few of them. Once you get past the initial set-up costs, maintaining two of them is practically the same as one. I think I'll always try to have 2 if I can, but at least one. They're so much fun to have.

3 males and 4 female panthers with around 110 eggs in the closet. You and your dad should come by and see my setups sometime since you are close.

I have a bunch. Plus a bunch of other lizards.
That said, it really proves nothing- your father might be saying he thinks it is weird, but he might mean it isn't right for your situation for one reason or another (your budget, your time, your experience level, he might want to wait and see how the rest of your life comes along at this point before adding another chameleon for you to be responsible for, he might want to see if you eventually loose interest before making the commitment and investment in a second animal, his money might be involved in the chameleon, setup, food, etc, his time if he has to be responsible for making sure you keep things cared for and cleaned up, he may not want a zoo in his home). In the end, your father is responsible for his household and raising you the best he can and has the right to decide what is and isn't right for his home.
I don't think this thread is going to effect his decision making one way or the other- probably your best bet is to take super care of the one that you have, make sure all the other areas of your life are well covered (good grades, etc), try to earn some money to start saving for another one, and re-approach him again every few months to let him know you have a serious interest, and then gracefully accept his decision for a while even if it is no. Then repeat the process and try again. Maybe you already are doing everything I'm suggesting, in that case more patience, try rounding out your interest (breed some feeders, tweak your husbandry, read some books, etc) to keep your spirits up, and then ask again later.
I've got kids myself.
Good luck with it.

I have 2 Veileds, one panther (masoala), just sold my ambanja female, and getting an ambanja boy from Amanda (Jandie).

I also have 67 veiled eggs cooking and 53 ambanja ones.

I think its rather the opposite of what your dad says. You're weird if you just have one ;)
