So after quarantine, I might get a chameleon. I need to know where I should put my cage, some tips and tricks, some good websites to get panther chameleons off of, and anything else. And yes I have done all my research, I have an 8 1/2 page essay that I've been working on for 2 years.

Great to hear you’ve been doing your research!

For room placement, and you’ll want to try and get a room with low traffic. I know some people just can’t put their chameleon there and that’s ok, but I would definitely try. Mines in our sunroom, which not many people go in when we have guest come over.

My chameleon, Gatsby, is a panther chameleon that I purchased from Kammerflage Kreations. They were awesome in helping me before buying him. Gatsby is thriving and was perfectly healthy when I received him! decided to go with kammerflage because I’ve heard so many great things about them. And I have all good things to say myself!

Something else that I would suggest is to setup your enclosure a week or so before recording your chameleon. Expect things to go wrong and to be stressed when you receive him!

Overall, good luck! And I hope this helped you out!

Thank you so much! I didn't even think about the sunroom!

Keeping a chameleon in a low traffic area is key, along with adding plants for a hiding place in the viv for the cham & of course lots of branches of different sizes, vertical & horizontal, a linear uv light, I use a 25 watt bulb for heat. I will have some ybbb juveniles available soon, or a sub adult in a few months, if you are interested pm me

Hi and welcome! The forum sponsors are always a good start when looking to buy a cham, as are the forum classifieds. If you haven’t already explored https://chameleonacademy.com/, I suggest you do so. Make sure to check out the podcasts too. Not only provides information on what to do and how best to do it, but the why.

I live near Georgia so I have the same problem.
Ah okay. I invested in a herpstat. If you don’t know, it’s a dimming thermostat. It helps me so much and allows me to destress knowing that Gatsby is getting the right temps he should be. I know it’s pricey but it’s definitely worth it, and you won’t regret it. Just my opinion though!
