Infection 2. Scott 0.

So the infection got very aggressive last night and spread rapidly up my leg. I came in to my doc this morning and I'm being admitted. They are very worried about the infection. So.... I get to wear a funny gown I guess.

Update on the infection. It spread again last night as I tried to sleep... They switched me from Clyndomyacin to Zancomyacin and now since that isn't working they are switching me to Daptomyacin. From my understanding, that is one of the big guns that they dont like to use unless they have to. Lets hope this works as I admit I am getting a little uneasy as this infection seems to be spreading at will.

I hope this works. Have they tested to see what bacteria is involved?

They cannot find the infection in the blood and they believe that's because how long I've been on antibiotics. However it seems to be moving through my leg tissue at will. Since my leg has no sores, cracks, or abbrasions, they cannot sample it. In the meantime my leg looks like an over stuffed sausage. On a good note, it has receded a little overnight and it's not as red as yesterday. It loiks like the daptomyacin might be working!

Have you thought about coming to Pittsburgh or one of the other big medical places? Not sure if that would help, just know a lot of people come here for our hospitals.

Ok people, I'm home. They released me this evening. After a full week in there I am really glad to be home. Well see how it all pans out.
