interesting things to do to enjoy your cham?

Hand feeding is amazing:) going outside on a nice day in the schflerra Trees with a few treats. Coming home to my Camille is interesting enough for me:D even tho she is still skeptical of us lol. The colors never get boring nor does watching them cage cruise while keeping an eye on you and hands hahah

Is THAT when they do it!? I think it's so funny but neither of mine have yet.

I like just watching them move around though, climbing through their cages. It's silly sometimes. And watching them hunt down crickets is good too!

No mine did this at first in her still cage like ohhh you don't see meee. I'm a leaf hah. But not anymore only outside. But yes leafwalk is also another fun thing about them:)

sometimes if something scares em like if the branch they are on moves or if i drop something and it moves fast the they just go "LEAF!" i like to narrate as they do the leaf walk

Are there any enrichment things you can offer? Can just lounges on this one branch all day. I know that’s common chameleon behavior but I want to get him up and moving more

Hunting watching them hunt is enjoyable add some flying insects and boom my hoehnelii loves hunting soldier flies and I love watching him hunt for them

We have a ficus tree in our kitchen (on wheels!) and so I can place it in front of his cage and he will climb right out onto the tree. My son also has a pothos hanging in his room so he gets to go there sometimes. We call that "grandma's house", though I am not sure why or who started that. My oldest also made a tree structure out of branches we took off trees outside and it is awesome because it is more portable, so if he happens to be out, he can come with us. He doesn't do any of these things super often (ficus tree he loves though!), but it is nice to be able to enjoy him out of his cage sometimes on plants or whatever. Yesterday my kids took him downstairs while they were having lunch and he pooped on the carpet. I thought it was funny, but they told him he was naughty! Silly kids

This may be one of the creepiest thread titles in a while....

Interest is relative. What I find interesting is observing them being chameleons—doing what chameleons do.

OTTOMH,
Inside the enclosure:
Occasionally rearranging plants, vines, branches, and feeder cup locations
Occasionally replacing/rotating plants, vines, and branches

Outside the enclosure:
Give them occasional free range time—not always the same way or same locations

I think there may be something basic you don't understand about chameleons. Remaining motionless for hours on end, or moving slowly and deliberately through the branches, is 'how chameleons do' (to co-opt a phrase).

IMO, one of the worst things we can do with any animal is try to bend them to our wills and make them behave how we think they should—or how we want them to—rather than allow them to be themselves.

If you want a more animated/engaging reptile, there may be better candidates.

Leaf tailed geckos imo are even more motionless especially the mossy variants they soley rely on camouflage and let’s not even get started on Kenyan sand boas they may be active ynderneath the sand but you won’t even know that I agree with this tho if you want an active very animated animal mourning geckos are great candidates or dart frogs both are very active social with eachother as long as you do it right and wonderful to watch in a fully planted vivarium

Yeah I know that’s what chameleons do but I just want to make sure he’s not bored.

And maybe I’ll let him sit on my guitar head while I play, he might like it he might not. We’ll see.

IDK that they have the capacity to get bored; that may be anthropomorphizing. They never sleep during the day, and IME, their eyes never stop moving around, constantly on the watch for predators & prey.

I personally don’t agree with this chameleons aren’t one for being handled especially not on something that’s vibrating with sound it’s just unwanted stress they are generally happy on their branch not being disturbed by humans and being unnoticed for the most part
