Introducing Buckminster Bobbins!

The warm greeting we were treated to after having been gone for a full week.

Bucky: "Who are you big pink apes and what are you doing in my house?"

Mantis is one of two insects that are my Calumma parsonii parsonii favorite foods. You have to be careful when feeding Mantis. If you feed them to much they can become spoiled and Parsonii start to hold there noise up to Dubia's and Madagascar Hissers.

That's funny because I have a panther they will not eat the roaches anymore because I gave him horn and silks

Actually it is not funny at all. I can be bothersome to have Parsonii start eating roaches again. Once they know you have got Mantis they start demanding only Mantis and other treat insects.

Nice iris!
Can't believe you can focus that well.
Last pic is more of what I would expect. lol

Bucky has this shimmering aura of awesomeness around him...it's hard to get a good photograph because if the light interference :D

(Actually, I'm just a crummy photographer using a crummy camera phone :p)

Thank you very much. It has been very rewarding having Bucky. He is 300g at 15 months.

It would be very easy to overfeed him - he is always hungry and will eat anything and everything. No mantises yet. Currently we are on a regular mix of dubia (his favorite), crickets (which he still loves), silkworms, hornworms, and superworms (as treats). Right now, I have some snails and Indian stick insects for enrichment and also offer the occasional bright-colored moth, katydid, and grasshopper when I can safely collect them.

The calendar reminded me this morning that we are due for a regular fecal check!

Did not mean it in a bad way. Only have panthers don't have a Parsons don't know how their personalities are

Since @bobcochran insists on criticizing my exemplary photography skills (haha), I thought I would share today's Instagram photo, which did turn out very well for using a phone camera. I do have a DSLR... I need to have the hubby teach me how to use it (again). The hubby is a great photographer.

This picture *almost* does justice to the intensity of color in Bucky's eyes - they are the most amazing, glowing maroon. Eat your heart out, Bob! :p
