I have 6 Melleri now since the new addition. Three free range, two are in screen enclosures because they actually did not do well in a free range situation and Gumbo, the new guy, is in quarantine at the moment in a 48x24x48 enclosure.

That's a fantastic question Kinyonga! I have a confirmed male and a confirmed female....100% sure. The other four I am not 100% certain of. Best educated guess, 3 female and 1 male. But...that is strictly a guess based off coloration, behavioral indications, heel spurs(which I think is a terrible method..but I'll mention it) and prominence of hip bone. If I ever find a vet that I have complete confidence in, I would consider getting them probed...but I must admit I'm not a fan of this with a species as easily stressed as Melleri.
I wouldn't probe them either for that reason. They aren't easy to sex for sure.

Thank you for that bit of information. There were three methods listed that I had never heard of being a definitive test for sexing Melleri. Those being, ultrasound of ventral proximal tail base (just behind the vent or cloaca), X-rays to check for skeletal gender differences and Endoscopy. The X-rays in particular caught my eye being that it would seem to be the least invasive and stressful for the chameleon. I'm going to have to do some further research on this.
