Introductions

Bravo bravo good words! Hahaha I use that red hair gel in your last pic sometimes 🤣.
Good observation! 🤣 I haven't used that one in a bit, but I might have to go back to it! I'm kind of searching for a new gel, any suggestions?

Hi I’m Josiah! My friends call me Joe. I LOVE baseball my favorite team is the dodgers! 15 days till opening day btw! I like football my favorite team is the cheifs! I love hanging out with my friends, going to the movies, dodgeball etc. my favorite movies are Leon The Professional, Rocky Balboa, Creed, Quiet Place, The Village, The Others. Some favorite tv shows are Stranger things (which is my absolute fav), the new wonder years, the mysterious Benedict society, WandaVison. I also love anime like My hero academia, any studio ghibli films, Your Lie In April, One punch man etc.
Nice to meet you Joe! I'm not much of a baseball guy, but my grandpa loves the Dodgers, so they have become the team that I root for as well. You seem to have very good taste, in addition to the baseball team and gel preference, I also enjoy a lot of the same TV shows! I really enjoyed watching One Punch Man and My Hero Academia! Currently watching One Piece, Naruto Shippuden, and Jojo's Bizzare Adventure. Stranger Things is a great TV show as well. I will have to check out some of the other shows and movies you mentioned--since you like them, I'm sure I'll enjoy them as well!

@Mendez Well said and a beautiful sentiment. I can't thank you enough for rolling up your introverted sleeves and helping with the Jackson's questions. It gives me peace of mind to know if I can't get to the forum that there is some one dedicated to the three horned to help the newcomers.
Thank you! I don't think anyone can rival your and Kaizen's experience, advice, and wisdom when it comes to Jackson's chameleons. But I'm glad to help out when I can. @Lindasjackson is becoming quite the Jackson's helper which has provided me a lot of relief. But I will try to help out more in the coming months! @JacksJill, you deserve the peace of mind, you have already done so much to progress how we keep jacksonii in the hobby. Your blogs are absolutely amazing! The detail is incredible and the pictures you add are invaluable! Your blogs are my favorite on this forum!

Thank you for the kind words Mendez! Most of my experience was 25 years ago when I had my first two Jackson’s. We didn’t know much back then but I had a couple years experience with watching them and caring for them the best I could. Now that I have Eustis I have learned so much from you and Jacksjill, and Kaizen! The leap in information from then until now is amazing and I’m so glad that so much more is known about them now! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge with me!

You are one of my favorite people here! Thank you for all you do in the forum. Keep being you hun because it is special and unique.
😊😊😊😊 You are one of my favorite people here as well! I'm always giving my brother updates on Beman. We think that's just the most adorable name out there lol! And you are an absolute saint of a person!

You are always welcome, and thank you as well! I know that nothing is insignificant on this forum, everything matters, but truly I am classified as statistically insignificant when it comes to how many people you have helped vs how many people I have helped. You are a legend who puts others before yourself! Make sure to take care of that big heart of yours. We all appreciate what you have done. I'm just happy to have joined the forums in the golden years when people like you, @MissSkittles, @AmandaS, @ERKleRose, @jannb, @JacksJill, @Sonny13 were (and still are) active. You all are truly saints!

The damage that comes from helping others can be emotionally draining. You have made so many friends. Let us know when you need help and we'll help you. @Beman, you are amazing and always will be! Never forget that!

You ARE awesome, @Beman

Nice to see you Miguel. I have to admit that reading this brought a tear to my eye…so very sweet and true. I’m so glad that you’re here, sharing your beautiful chameleons and helping others. Keep being your wonderful self. 🥰
Btw, I too am an introvert.
I'm glad that you are moved! This is a movement that you have helped put in motion. All the time and tears that you have put back into this hobby have been paying off for years. You have inspired the next generation of reptile keepers, and the beautiful thing is that you aren't obsolete. We will always need you. Your experience is invaluable. Who am I kidding, you ARE the next generation of chameleon keeper. We all are changing how we keep chameleons. @MissSkittles, you are a wonderful and beautiful person! Also, nice to meet a fellow introvert!

You are most welcome! You know, everything that I have learned began way before I was born with people like you! You were among the first jackson's chameleon keepers. It was people like you who provided a foundation that people built on to get to the very spot that we are at today. It's awesome to hear that the leap in information from then until now has been great! But don't sell yourself short, it's people like you who I have to thank. Eustis is extremely lucky to have such a wonderful, caring, and responsible owner. You, like everyone else here, are amazing!

Hey @Sonny! Keeping in touch with you on other social media sites has been amazing! I'm happy to call you a true friend! Though I would be remiss if I didn't say the same: "always feels like I´m a noob once I read your contributions." I think we all are learning from each other. I am certainly still learning from you and all the other forum members. There are so many factors that can lead to positive results and so many factors that can lead to negative results; I just file away each piece of information into a category in my head--noting the important parts, learning from it, trying to find similarities, and move on. It's crazy, I literally know so little. I'm not trying to be humble. That's why I'm glad to call you, along with others on this forum, my friends. It's awesome to have friends that I can learn so much from. Adding up member experience, the forum has a couple centuries' worth of experience. I will take that any day. And I will learn from it. I'm not here to reenact the past, I'm here to progress the future!
Same here my friend, it´s enjoy- and knowledgeable every time. Sharing is caring, and that is exactly what we do. Time for keeping information for yourself is the past, due these forums and social media, everything is accessible and we can constantly learn from each others experiences. I'm still a rookie and only arrived short to the hobby of keeping chameleons, luckily my ADHD / slightly autistic and OCD behavior comes pretty handy for this hobby. Meaning, I wanna know everything and always wanna go for perfection. That combined with rational thinking, common sense and people you and fellow forum members, brings me somewhere. Reaching out for each other on IG was the perfection, never had experienced maximum digits in social media messages :p

In general I love being here on the forums talking to everyone, helping out where I can, read a blog sometimes and reading new posts or threads form archive. Even in the mostly sorrow times (yes there are to many sad stories), every time seeing a sick animal hurts badly and even more if people stay stubborn regarding advice. But, I truly understand what thrives people like @Beman and @MissSkittles, the ones you can help and see them and there cham thrive, is rewarding. I.e. our latest member @Ghostbirb, that is when I feel like

On other the hand those who don't, I wish I could spend some time with them my way 😈

Back to you, you're amazing, intelligent and still young, no need to stay anonymous, you have the world at your feet. Cheers my friend🤙

I didn’t even realize there was a intro thread lol! I think it’s about time to properly introduce myself!

Hi everyone! I’m Mia, I’m currently in high school and I took in a female veiled chameleon named Nachito who was a elementary school class pet. I have 3 budgies, one of them I’ve taken care of for almost, wow, 10 years now. I also have a bulldog and now Nachito! I’m going to be, if I’m not already, absolutely addicted to more exotic pet when I’m older lol.

I wanted to say thank you for all the support and information regarding chameleons and their care so I could start Nachitos road to recovery! This community is amazing and so welcoming to new members like me!
So again, thank you so very much!!!

No personal photos of me, but here’s a digital one I made online!

Nice to meet you officially Mia! I’m Vikki and one of your biggest ‘fans’. It’s not easy getting started with healthy chameleons, but you have started with one with a poor history and are learning so fast, making needed changes and bringing Nachito to good health. All too often stories such as yours go a bad way for various reasons, so I’m thrilled with your success.
Reptiles are addictive, lol. Only about 3 years ago I started with my first…my veiled lady Grumpy. Now I have 5 chameleons, 3 leopard geckos and a beardie! I’d have more if I had more space and money and was a couple of decades younger.
I look forward to seeing Nachito thrive and your continued growth as a keeper and forum member. 💗

I've only seen 2of your budgies too I think.

Glad you took Nachito on! You're well on your way to being an addict already...I can tell! 😉
I mean look at @MissSkittles ...she's already a big addict!

I was never an addict! (I lie about that all the time.) 😌😬 That's why I kept chameleons and many other reptiles in my house for over 30 years! I didn't/don't have any other addictions either. Had a budgie or two, tree crabs, colored mice, Guinea pigs, hamsters, dogs, etc...and I have skunks the come and scratch at my back door to get fed, squirrels that run up and down my screen to ask for food and a crazy bluejay that beeps at me until I feed it, etc....so I'm not addicted to wild animals and birds either!

Anyway...it's good to see/meet everyone in this thread!
Happy chameleoning to you all!

Welcome Mia…….and I can promise you, “no fear, you’ll just stay with one cham, they aren’t addictive and don’t listen to @MissSkittles or @kinyonga on that matter” 🤥

Love your dog and name, a typical Dutch name. We always owned a full breed Bully, called ‘Tjoekie’ 😬

Nope, too big and heavy! More like a surfboard on wheels 😂
That can work! 😃

Otto proves that even when you're fat and your mouth is drooling you can break with grace and dexterity a Guinness record in skateboarding. One condition - you must be a bulldog, which Otto obviously is!

Otto broke the Guinness World Record for skateboarding through the 'longest human tunnel' in Lima, Peru on Sunday, November 8.

The dog passed through the legs of 30 humans. The 11th annual Guinness World Records Day was celebrated on Thursday, November 12. [2015]
