Is Chameleon Kingdom still in business?

I found some affordable male ambilobe chams on this site, but when I go to click "Buy Now", I get a paypal error. I emailed them yesterday and got no reply, and called three times today with no answer, and left a message on the last call. I looked at the website again and noticed that everything was updated in 09. However, there's nothing saying that they're out of business.

I dont know if I should be patient and wait or call it a lost cause and stop waiting if they're out of business.

It would be dissappointing if I find out that they are in fact out of business. So far, those are the cheapest young male ambilobes I could find. ):

Some breeders dont update there website when they have nothing incuibating,or babies. No update since 09 seems a bit long. I have some afordable ambilobes on my website ;)

Ah, thank you. Oh their availability page, it stated that they currently had a batch of male ambilobes. But, if the last time the page was updated was in 09, then surely those are aged and long gone by now. :(

Thank you, but im afraid my budget is nothing over 220, as thats all the money I have to spend. This will be my first cham and reptile in general. Unfortunately, its difficult to find a male ambilobe for 220 or under. :( If you know of any breeders or sites, I would be very grateful. :)

you can check out our sponsors in the upper right hand corner but you are probably right that you will not find an Ambilobe under $220. Kammerflage Kreations has some for like $275.

www.chameleoncompany.com ;)

I've actually already contacted Chameleon Company a few days ago, but they don't have any male ambilobes ready to ship yet. They told me I would have to wait a month or two before the batch they have is ready. I was hoping to get something sooner, as im inpatient and have been waiting to get my first cham for months. ;) But I guess Ill just have to wait.

I only hope that he will keep them at their current price, or else I won't be able to get one.

Just wondering, but is making a thread asking to purchase a cham at a specific price against the rules? Im desperate here! XP

Try seeing if they will take a deposit.....;) It'll give you time to be all set up for the new little guy...

I think I might just do that. Unless, you guys think that an even cheaper one could pop up anytime soon.

I dont know, I think going with Chameleon Company may be the best choice. So far they are the cheapest I've found with a decent bloodline and I would be able to get it just at the right age. What do you think?

Oh believe me, I've been ready for a while. :p A cham could pop up out of no where right now and I'd be set.

The only downside that I can think of with going with the Chameleon Company is that I'd have to wait a bit. Im willing though.

If you can come up with $240 LLL may be able to get you 1 now;) Where do you live? Its freakin cold here in Wisc. Dont know if I would chance it where I live www.lllreptile.com

Go to facebook and look up Nic Herrett or pm him here, but I don't think he comes on much. On the forum it is Nicodemayo. I am fairly sure me is no longer selling chams.

Not to be negative...but if your budget is that low and already constricted...

AND this is your first reptile ever...

these aren't exactly the most beginner friendly animals, although they aren't the hardest either. but they are costly, especially if you need a vet visit....

Might I recommend considering a Veiled, or other more affordable (and possibly more common) chameleon as a first reptile...just a suggestion.

I wouldn't recommend any chameleon if you are low on money. I keep veileds and their vet bills are just as expensive as anyother chameleons and so is the set up, feeders, supplies and so forth. I have found chameleons to be a very expensive pet to own.

Last I checked Panther is about as common as a chameleon gets. I think they are great for first chameleons. I started with a veiled but no matter what you get as people said you will spend lots of money and some times unexpectedly. Waiting is a good thing even if its just for chameleon company. No need to rush there are plenty of chameleons to go around.

Ah, I know my low budget is questionable. From what I've heard from just about everywhere though, panther is the best to get for a beginner. I already was aware that a cham isnt a good pet to get for a first reptile, but I've been pretty dedicated these past few months. I mean, this isn't the VERY first reptile I've ever gotten, aside from just little backyard anoles or skinks, or even just frogs and toads from a nearby pond. I have a dog, three cats, and two ferrets as well, so im pretty acquainted when it comes to responsibility.
Ive done all the research I could on chams and I think I have it all down. I built my own cage and everything, and even have a smaller one for it to grow into until its ready for the bigger one. The supplies and lights are already taken care of. Im really confident about this. ;)

Aside from all that, though... I would much prefer a panther, anyway. Much more vibrant colors. :)

Thank you for the update on Nic Herrett though guys. At lest now I know not to wait, hope he gets back in the business though.

Also, I'm from Louisiana, and the weather down here is extremely unpredictable. This winter has been pretty warm though, usually in the 60s.

Hi and welcome.

I definitely think you should get the animal you want. And if that is a panther go for it!

And if you have done your research and properly care for it, vet bills should be minimal. I probably don't have the financial resources people here think is a requirement but I keep and have bred several chameleons. I've even rescued a few hard luck cases and gotten them proper care ... When/if they need a vet visit I find a way ... I'm sure you will too!
