Is it just me?

I don't know if it's just me or not, but my veiled chameleon is DUMB. I mean, I love him and everything, but he frequently does things that a small child wouldn't. I mean things like spending hours trying to climb something he obviously cant grip, or trying to fit himself in places where he obviously can't go, or generally contorting himself in some way that i can't imagine isn't painful. Is this normal? I mean I dont expect them to be the smartest animals around, but...

i had a jacksons which was my first chameleon and he liked to jump. no matter where he was he always felt the need to jump, even if there was nowhere to land

I seen a male panther today at mt local reptile show, who would jump off the top of his tree, climb back up to the top and repeatedly do it again! Chams do the darndest things!

Why would a chameleon be more intelligent than a small child?
They are ninjas, why would you question a ninja?
Maybe there just distracting you while your small child is doing somthing a chameleon would do!
They really dont seem to be ascared of falling or anything, the only thing mine are afraid of is a camera
I guess ninjas dont like being documented...
