I've just discovered about bioactive vivariums!

I'm awaiting Happy Reptile hydro drain and a mesh cover. I've bought tropical grey woodlice and springtails. Does this meet the criteria for a bioactive set up?

Id no idea the springtails were microscope! Should i buy a third critter to help keep my new set up in tip top order? If so, what would make a good choice?

Many thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Yeah isopods are the way to go for cleaning larger objects like poop. Get some porcellio dilatatus if you can. Once they populate the viv, poop will disappear within the day. Have used them in about 15 different enclosures and they never disappoint.

So will these tiny critters eat my chameleons faeces then?

Im wondering should I pop in some of each into my red eyed tree frogs viv. He poos in his water bowl mind you, so no mess there to clean up!

Thank you so much for your message
