My chameleon is a Panther (3months 3weeks)and its been 3 days i had had him and his cage 18x18x36 modified to height 16" i have live croton and a small devil vine, his diet is crickets for now until i get silkworms but he has not been in his basking area, the temp in basking is 84-90 and its a double dome so one area is the basking with 100watts day heater and the other is a 23watts energy saving light bulb provides similar to a 100watts incadescent bulb and a 18" 5.0 reptile, i have been misting him manually so his himidity is from 50%-80% , he was eatting alot at the first day but it started to decresed, i noticed today he has only eaten 3 medium crickets and he has been opening his mouth like he was eating and he has been laying on branches sideways and his first day he had like 3 brown fical and today only one and it was like green with a white. Should i be concern, and now he is hiding in between two leafs of croton like a sandwich, please advise, also i am new owner so i am trying to understand how my chameleon behavior is.

Definitely too hot for a 3 month old. Mid to lower 80s basking temps should be ok but 100 watt bulb is way too much for a 3 to 4 month old. If you fill out the how to ask for help questionnaire you will get the answers your looking for.

Not sure if the green poop means anything or not yet.
When you say it's opening its mouth as if eating do you mean it's opening and shutting or is it sitting with its mouth open?

Sometimes they lay sideways when trying to absorb the light/heat.
Do you have a UVB light on it?
Also concerned about your basking temperature for such a young chameleon.

Concerned about the plant too because I'm not sure if it's poisonous or not.

Do you know about proper supplementing and feeding/gutloading its insects?

Okay so should i use the 50 watts clear heater bulb instead and the 23watts CFL and yea i have a UV 5.0 reptile. His mouth opens and closes like he was eating something bit he has nothing in his mouth.
