ok, I do not understand ? I see people all the time saying "I bought a fish on ebay, or a snail, or what ever-"
why do I not see ANY pets on ebay ? has anyone ever bought a LIVE thing on ebay ?

is there another ebay just for pets?

You got me curious, so I went to look. If you bring up eBay.com, there's a search window in which you can type "live fish" or "live reptiles" and all sorts of things come up.

I found lots of tropical fish and lots of crickets and roaches under those two searches. I didn't scroll down far enough to see if there were any actual live reptiles for sale; a search for live chameleons and live snakes didn't turn up any, though.

Wow. I would never have even thought of selling live animals on eBay.

Actually, it gives me the creeps . . . . you wouldn't know anything about your customer and how well-prepared they would be to take proper care of your animal! Ugh.

oh I know- I was not wanting to sell, but I saw a post of a person who bought walking sticks on ebay - and there are also praying mantis on there - I see some of these crazy bugs on here- and some say they got them from ebay - I have sold my art on ebay for about 10 yrs- and never knew you could buy critters on there - lol I want to buy a live UNICORN- if there is one out there, it will be on ebay :p

In the Uk Ebay is awesome...it's easy to find various insects like Indian walking sticks and all the usuals too......I even get a decent supply of Silkworms.....for pretty good prices too....
Maybe different in the US....it's sorta funny how you guys often assume everyone is in North America...there are a few other continents around the Earth....lol.......

OK, good reminder . . . I too do often post as if everyone is in the US, as Canadian friends on another forum point out. I try to remember to do degrees in F and C but sometimes I fail. What's silly is DH & I have a number of host students from around the world! You'd think that would help us remember!

It's interesting how differently eBay (and other Internet sales companies) operate around the world--Indian walking sticks? Cool! I just checked eBay here and found that someone in the UK is shipping Eurycantha calcarata nymphs to the US and Canada as well as in the UK . . . Wow.

Just be careful, exotic walking sticks are illegal in the US and you could get in quite a bit of trouble if customs found out you had some shipped into the country.

I've only seen fish and insects (usually feeders or educational insects) sold on ebay.
