Is there such a thing as too much in a cage?

Karma's new mesh cage should be here tomorrow!
We will be transferring her climbing branch, adding lots of plants and vines and basically making her a WAY more cham friendly enclosure!

Can you add too much?

I know right now, she has not enough. She gets around ok but I think more plants and some vines would be better. We just want to make sure we find that nice medium where she has enough but not so much that she cant get around.

I would have assumed that more is better :) - not too much though!
They like doing disappearing acts with you at the front of the cage thinking where the hell did they go  lol

At first I had tall plants that were all over the basking and climbing branches and Rocko seemed to be frustrated trying to get around. I now have the bottom half covered in pothos and scheffelera that have a few branches that go to the top. He seems to be better with that plus having full foilage at the bottom still holds the humidity. You can see a pic in my Rocko Photo Album.

Cool!
I have a ficus she came with, its small but ok.
She is getting a larger cage. She was(still is until tom.) in an 18 x 18 x 32 plexi POS and we bought her a 24 x 24 x 48 aluminum mesh from LLL.
We plan on adding a couple of pothos and either a larger ficus or a schefflera, depending upon what we can find.
We will transfer her large manzanita branch and then add vines around so she has more climbing stuff.
I know she will be happy when she has more camoflage and can get around, plus not see her reflection all the time.

It's also a good idea to have different level of basking branches under both the UVB and basking light with the closes one no less than 6 in from the light to prevent burns. That way she will have a choice as to what temp she wants to bask at. Also you will notice they do bask under the UVB light too.

We are getting the reptisun 5.0 UV tube and a new hood for it. Then we are adding a basking lamp and will mount it from the wall over the cage. Hubby will install a plant hanging bracket for it. Then we can add chain and raise and lower it if needed. She has several basking areas on the manzanita that are at different levels right now but we want to add more.
We have a 6ft. bend vine in medium right now. I want one more at least so we can do several horizontals and then one snaking vertical thru it and then weave pothos on the bottom part like you did.

The setup she came in is basically junk and totally wrong for her. I think she will be much happier once we get it set-up the way it should be!

Yes, I think it is possible to have too much in the cage. Most of my chameleons, which are panthers, prefer more open areas than heavily planted ones. I put plants on one side of the cage, with sticks and vines, and leave the other side of the cage free of leaves top to bottom, with several branches (different thicknesses, different angles, different heights) and vines but not overly so. This gives them choice.
