I never said that I wasn’t gonna take her to the vet. I am definitely going to the vet this week or early next week depending on when I can get in. I just think, don’t just go and blow a bunch of money at the vet for them to tell me what I already know. You know what I mean?

of course, I never said u wouldn't take her to the vet, I'm just saying we cant pinpoint the EXACT cause and do things that a vet can. I totally understand you but I'm just a ittle paranoid, I used to have a different chameleon and he passed sadly due to me not going to the vet, I'm hoping nobody else has to go through that same thing, now even the slightest concern I will shoot my vet an email or go in.

The only thing holding me up is that the reptile vets in Pittsburgh are like just vets that treat all animals, none are chameleon or even reptile specialists. Last time I went he did a great job with her abscess but this is a bit more complex.....

My Male veiled had lived with gout for over a year. Is it just that one leg that is swollen? If you can, look at my previous threads I've posted and in there you'll find a couple (with pictures) of my boy and his gout.

Can’t have mesh sides here in Pittsburgh because it’s cold and not humid. She’s very small and tank size is perfect for her and me.

Is it hard or soft when you touch it? How is her grip on those 2 legs? My boys gout started in the knees. The only way to really know what it is, is have the vet lance it and see what the discharge looks like. Were you able to see my previous threads on gout? I posted a picture of what came out of my boys knee.

As long as a glass enclosure has ventilation in another place other than the top (like an Exo Terra, or Zoo med glass enclosure) they are more than fine, and in fact probably better than an all screen enclosure. Unfortunately, yours is undersized. Just because she is small, that does not mean she needs a smaller cage. I would bet her issues are stemming from improper lighting and supplementation. You should also look into bioactive substrate, this will negate your mildew/mold issue, will allow you to mist properly, and is overall a whole lot easier to maintain.

I already had this discussion about the tank with others on the forum. They gave me crap about the tank size, and I respect why, but so far, she has plenty of room. And what’s improper about my lighting and supplementing?
