Is this MBD?

I have a male veiled chameleon, I got him in January of this year (2016) and his legs look kinda swollen but i don't think it looks like MBD can you help me to know if it is MBD or if it is somthing else or just nothing.(y)

He is in a 18 by 18 by 24" glass terrarium (I know that he should be in a all screen terrarium but i am moving and will buy a screen tank when i settle in to my new house)

I think that he is about 7 months to one year old. Plz tell me if you have an idea about how old he is.

He is about 1 foot long from snout to end of tail. I have not measured him from snout to vent.

He eats small Mealworms and med sized crickets lightly dusted with Reptivite calcium powder.

Plz tell me if you need more information about him
:)

But some days he will eat about 4-5 crickets or mealworms and other days he will eat 5-6 crickets or mealworms and the days that he eats more one of his legs will swell. so its not just that leg sometimes it will be one of his front legs it kinda just depends on the day.

Too much D3 can lead to kidney disease and to calcification of tissue. His legs, while being blurry, look like good healthy meaty legs. They are straight and bend where they are supposed to. They look good as far as can be seen with the blurry pics.

His legs appear to be perfectly fine and straight, at least judging by the photos provided. On healthy Veiled Chameleons, their back legs do get thicker above the “ankle.” If you believe that there is swelling above and beyond what is normal and/or or specifically at the ankle and/or he dangles one of more limbs when basking/resting, then it could be an infection or gout.

Yes change your supplementation schedule and consider adding more variety to his diet. Here are our resources on food and supplementation:

Also here is a brief write up about some different problems found in the limbs: https://www.chameleonforums.com/care/health/legs-feet/

Of course proper UV lighting also plays a factor in healthy chameleons: https://www.chameleonforums.com/care/lighting/
