http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&q=Hebe+Franciscana+Variegata&btnG=Search+Images&gbv=2

thats what it is it doesn't smell or look or seem toxic looks pretty safe to me it looked abut like a plant that was showed as safe on here...

Here is some more information on the plant. I am not sure if it is toxic or not. I have not been able to find information on toxicity.

IMHO : It is always safer to be careful and use one of the plants on the safe list.

Hebe ‘Franciscana Variegata’ forms a fairly compact, rounded evergreen bush, about 2 ft (60 cm) high and wide. The variegated leaves are thick, oval-shaped and irregularly blotched with cream; 1.2–2 in (30–50 mm) long. The flowers are violet, fading to lilac or white; summer. In the UK this hebe needs a warm sheltered garden to thrive.

The parents of this hybrid are Hebe elliptica and Hebe speciosa. Sold in the USA as ‘New Zealand Flame Bush’. It is sometimes called Hebe ‘Variegata’
