IS THIS SHED STUCK!! PLEASE HELP

So I am a new chameleon owner and have had stretch for a week as of Friday. He is a male roughly 2.5 months old. All is good with setup and health as I've posted previous threads. I have had my humidity in the 60s since he started his shed yesterday around 1030-11 am. I thought since he was younger it should have been complete by now? I'm a little concerned after reading all the post about possible loss of circulation. I have also been told he looks bigger than the age I was told, is this possible? I have posted a pic of the shedding I think is stuck to his mouth, feet and tail. if anyone could please let me know if this is normal or If I should be concerned that would really help ease the nerves right now. Spray his enclosure a couple more times than usual during the day and even spray a little bit on him(even though he'll probably run away lol) to keep humidity even higher! That's what I do when my guy is having a rough shed!

Ya i should have said that sorry slow morning today. there is also a spray you can get at petsmart that helps with difficult sheds its called tropical spray i think it works pretty good. If you keep his humidity right his sheds after this will be easier than this one the place you got him at probably didn't have the humidity right so thats why he is having trouble I have noticed I have the same issue every time I get a new chameleon.

I agree! My chameleons first shed with me was a beezy but now every one of his sheds are much quicker and complete.

Sometimes using warmer water can help boost humidity too when misting. Stuck sheds are usually what refer to sheds when they get stuck in the eye. Those are a huge worry, because unless you address it right away and get him able to rinse it out of his eye (which isn't always possible on his own) and infection could happen. Then it is time for a vet immediately. A chameleon who has lost it's eye sight is not fun.

Yes this could be a problem. I had a parsonii recently that as soon as i got her she started shedding like a couple hours after putting her in the cage and it was a crappy shed there where little pieces of her shed all around both eyes and i kept an eye on her and she was able to shed all the way and was okay but it was a very crappy and not a normal shed and it happened very quick which tells me the place i got her from did not have even close to the right humidity for her.

That's what happened to me! He's fine now, and his sheds are perfectly normal, but for a while at the beginning I was terrified that he was going to die.....
He's doing fine! He's been really goofy lately, he'll try to eat my hat after climbing up my face, trying to eat the tweezers that I put in his food-bowl attached to his cage, etc.

Do you know how to tell a more accurate age for my little guy. Or do I just believe what I was told?

Would guess 4 months ish just because you can start to see his patterns

That would make more sense. Just out of curiosity are you going off the picture I posted of him shedding or my profile pic?

I would say he's relatively closer to 5 months and possibly near to 5 and a half months. His size shows he's relatively large and he has the right amount of filling out to be around that age. Since he is shedding at the moment I wouldn't be surprised once he's done that he will have far more colors than before.

Thanks for your post. Are you going of the shedding pic above or the profile pic? And he's a low end Translucent Veiled if that matters at all.

I am going off the shedding picture. A low end translucent will still show more markings as he gets older. They may just be different. As far as his size, that is what makes me sure he is around 5 months. When they are 4 months they still are relatively more lanky for the majority of veileds and still show mostly green if not all green.

The one you posted! I'm not an expert but 4.5 months-5.5 months. Here is mine about a week ago and I got him two months ago as a "baby" which would make me believe he is 4-5 months of age

The picture posted is after shedding, all that was left is what was on his feet, mouth and tail. I'm glad to hear he is looking good and healthy as far as size goes though.
