I've been trying to guess his age, I took him outside and he's a little annoyed at the moment the picture was taken- trying to crawl away from the wife... we were measuring him, he's 8" long from snout (not horn) to tip of the tail out stretched. He's probably 3" tall I didn't want to annoy him too much. He's about 4" from snout to root of the tail.

Pretty sure he's a Xanth as well

(got him from Petsmart ... slapped my own hand several times... and they didn't know his age)

**Yes I have a really big hand.. 12" from thumb to pinky outstretched

yah he's a xantholophus, he might be almost a full adult. not to sure, should be 5" inches from snout to vent @ adult hood. and i think 9-12"s total.

lenght seems like he is not quite an adult - mine are about 12' (and will celebrate their 1rst bday this month). horns look good tho.

I got him this past weekend from PetSmart - Friday as a matter of fact - and my crickets have gone missing (habitat and all... gotta go get more in the morning and keep them inside this time lol). There were two Jacksons up there, one was younger and about 2/3 the size of this one. His horns looked a bit messed up, one almost look broke in the middle (both of the males were caged together) and the snout horn (I'll learn the proper terminology one day soon lol) was crooked but didn't look like it had been broke. I'm assuming the two had a tussle or the other wasn't treated well. Dex's horns match almost perfectly.

I hate that I did the majority of my research there and accepted the glass reptarium. I'm in the process of building him a nice (pricey) screen cage, hopefully I'll have it all done by this time next week or the week after.

Rostral - Thanks :)

Oh and ... my son's kindergarten teacher apparently wants us to bring him in on a friday for the week they cover the letter C (YAY) any idea if he should be ok with a few "more" kids around than usual? I plan on keeping a good eye on him to see if he starts acting agitated - he seems to start doing that rocking motion everytime he gets agitated

well, ima be honest.

id avoid any unecessary trips, but if you absolutely must take him, i am sure someone can advice you on how to travel with him.

id probably use a shoe box, put some kind of moistish cushioning to help protect him, without josseling him, he should sleep during the trip.

avoid all little hands touching him, he more then likely won't like to be held by anyone but you..
