Well it happen this morning. Little O has been looking like a bag of marbles for a few months. Today she let the invasion begin.

So far, 8, but given her cage is really overgrown with plants, it could be more. She ate right up to yesterday.

So needless to say, I have to carry out plan "Independence Day."

I have one very large tub filled with house plants, going to move them into their has I catch them. I am going to spend all day building out baby housing.

Any recommendations? Hand misting, auto misting, or fog? Night time drop is not a problem. Currently they mom has a basking of 80F, average of 70 and night time of 55-60.

Oh and first time doing this.

So, each cage measures length/width/height = 1’ by 8” x 1’. All are from the dollar store and cost $1.25 each. Used box cutter, Window screen and a glue gun to make the fronts (which are actually the lids of the containers) and tops screen. Use 13” barbecue skewers (Dollar store) for five of six horizontal branches per enclosure. And you can grab some fake plants (dollar store) until you can find live replacements. If you get ambitious, you can build little doors on each, but for the time being, you can just pop the lids of to access the interiors.

Here’s some pics of them when I first built them last winter. It took my wife and I about 4 hours to construct 17 enclosures, and we spent less than 100$. Lighting excluded. More importantly, we lost none of the babies...ever. We hand misted three time a day: just before lights on (got everything nice and wet), just after lights off, and just before bedtime.

Babies will be fine with your temps! Don’t be tempted to give them warmer night temps. Also, your uvb will be plenty of heat over the small enclosures, so no need for basking lamps.

Thank you guys. I am copying the dragon strand nursery, kind of. I knew it was coming so I stocked up on parts, just thought I had a little more time.

ok, so 13 so far. I gave up after I got a hiss out of O. She does not hiss. She was just tired of the invasions. I don't hold her so she lets me know when she is done. Took forever to get them to climb on a twig to get out. I have them in a large 66 gallon tub. I have started the housing construction. They are pretty active. I will post pictures later. Exhusted right now.

I was going to buy Exoterra nano's for mine but COVID made them hard to get. Here are my individual baby cages (see below)
These are cheap but labor intensive as there is a lot of cutting out plastic to hot glue screens and glue on the pot saucers for 2 plants in 3 inch pots. I also make a gasket to keep the bugs in better. All of this sits under a dual T5 with a 5.0 and a 65oo plant light. I haven't had to add any basking yet but probably will soon.
I put pairs in this at first and then move them each to their own cage by one month.
I run a dripper and hand mist and they get fogging that comes down from the adult cages above them at night.
